Research Note: He was a son of Lee and Ruth Edna (Davis) Creech, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry. He received his education in Rogers, Ark., where he grew up. He then entered the United States Navy, where he was a helicopter and jet mechanic. In 1969 he moved to Barry County and had resided at Purdy for 22 years. He was currently employed as a bulk feed truck driver for Purdy Farm Center. He was a very good mechanic and at auto body repairs. He was a member of AA for 17 years, of which he was very proud. Research Note: This one is incorrectly indexed on the Missouri Archive site as William Harvey Cranet. W. S. Hankins of Cassville, MO, was the informant. February 13, 1913, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Online Newspapers: Oak Ridge News: Died at his home a mile northwest of Oak Ridge school house at 4 o'clock Saturday evening, Rev. W. H. Crouch of heart disease, age nearly 62 years. He came here form Oklahoma about 2 years ago and bought a part of the Mills place east of Spout Spring. He had been a minister for several years but owing to his disease he had of late years not preached so much. He lost his house and all its contents about the 20th of November 1912 and his worrying is thought to have aggravated the disease and shortened his life. He leaves a wife and six children to the bereaved we extend our sympathy. - And also - Suburban News: Mr. Crouch died Saturday at four o'clock with heart trouble. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones. Additional Note: He married Florence Arletta Dickson in 1894, possibly in Nebraska. |

Berneta received her education at Lone Elm, Cedar Mound and Hailey schools, east of Cassville. She lived in Barry County in the Hailey Community several years, where she and her husband farmed. For over 20 years she and her husband owned and operated Dalton’s Bait Station in Cassville, MO. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Theodore Bennett Dalton; five sisters, Goldie Lester, Jewell Thomas, Rhoda Hilton, Sarah Jane Pohlod, and Ruby Peak; and two great-grandsons. |
