Apoplexy and hypertension were given as the causes of death. Frankie Hankins, Cassville, MO, was the informant. Phyllis' Note - A slice from her online obit reads: Mrs. Eva Leona Maupin, widow of the late John F. Maupin, passed away in Cassville Wednesday, Jan 26. Mrs. Maupin had suffered a stroke first on January 13th. It is believed that it was a second stroke that resulted in her death. Eva Leona Hayward, was born Nov. 9, 1867 at Carlinville, IL. She was united in marriage to John J. Maupin Nov 12, 1885. To this union three children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Frankie Hankins. Annetta reported that he died in Springfield, MO, but Culver's records read that he died in Joplin House Nursing Home, and that I. E. Kilbane of 418 Byers, Joplin, MO, was his physician. He was an employee of Sinclair Oil Co., and Walter Pettit, was the administrator of the estate. His home address was Aurora in Lawrence Co., MO.
