Jackson, son of John and Sarah (Moore) Carney, was shot twice with both bullets having entered his head near his mouth. The killer was George Moore, a cousin, and was soon thereafter hanged in Cassville, MO. Jackson Carney was a grandson of County Judge Thomas Carney - 1863 to 1868. Note
