Research Note: He was a son of Joseph Allman and Mary Shew? Mrs. Florence Allman was the informant at the same address as given for George. 2540 Park Ave. Newspaper Wheaton Journal, Date August 2, 1928. George Allman who was born and raised in and near Wheaton died Sunday morning July 29 at his home in Kansas City. He was 63 years old. The body was shipped to Wheaton Tuesday. He leaves four brothers, Elmer and John of Wheaton, Sam of Hominy, Okla., and Will of near Springfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Ruppert and Addie Allman of near Powell. He was married to Florence Gillman, December 15, 1889. Unto this union were born seven children, Harris Allman of Granby, Mo. Mrs. Murriel Biggs, Mrs. Anna Cooper, Vernie, Eula, Edna, and Juanita Allman all of Kansas City. Mr. Allman was a pioneer citizen of Wheaton and will be missed by all who knew him. Cassville Democrat

In 1950, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Verline Reynolds, who preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2003. Gerald attended high school at Wheaton. At the age of fifteen he joined the United States Navy, retiring in 1969. He then worked for the Railroad in South Carolina, retiring from there after fifteen years of employment. Research Note: Wheaton Journal Friday, July 6, 1923 MRS. JAMES BIGGS DIES SUDDENLY - Mrs. Edna Biggs, wife of James Biggs, died very suddenly of heart trouble at the Biggs home on Mikes Creek, Thursday afternoon at ? o'clock. Mrs. Biggs was apparently in good health and her death comes as a very bad shock to her many friends and neighbors. Funer al services were conducted by Rev. E. C. Tichenor at Rocky Comfort today and the remains buried at the Rocky Comfort cemetery. Besides a husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ted Stipp of Rocky Comfort and two sons, Willie and Vernon at home. Mr. and Mrs. Biggs lived for a number of years in Wheaton and their many friends in this city received a sad shock when the news of her death reached here. Wheaton Journal

Research Note: Wheaton Journal Friday, July 18, 1924 He moved to southern Illinois with his parents when a small boy. Here he grew to manhood. He was married in 1858 to Dicey Caroline Reed. To this union was born ten children, three of whom passed to the Great Beyond in infancy. He is survived by seven children; Mary Arnett of Portland, Oregon; Dudley Biggs of Exeter, Mo.; Minnie Taliferro of Grove Oklahoma; James D. Biggs of Lasalle, Colo.; Murtie Utter of Wheaton, Mo.; J. Quigley Biggs of Topeka, Kansas; and William A. Biggs of Baker, Oregon. He also leaves thirty-two grandchildren, twenty-five great grand children and one great, great grand child. He moved to Mo. in 1869 coming to southwest Mo. a year later. His wife died May 20, 1912, after having spent 53 and half years as his companion. He had spent the past eight years at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Murtie Utter. Online Obit

Research Note: Little James Edward Bixler, son of Noah and Eva Bixler, was born Nov. 2, 1928 and died Dec. 13, 1928 at the age of one year, one month and eleven days. Membranous croup was the cause of his death. He leaves, besides his father and mother, two sisters, Viola and Cletus May, and one brother, Junior, and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Vanzandt and the body laid to rest in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery, by his brother, Odell, who preceded him to the better world four years ago.
