Research Note: Logan came to Barry County from KY by way of area of St. Joseph, MO, before the Civil War. Logan's brother Oliver also served in Company D 6th MO CAV along with their cousins Henry, Samuel, William Jefferson, and James Grant. Logan's service record is confusing in what dates are connected to what event. But they seem to be - Aug 1862 Enlisted at Newtonia, Newton, Missouri, USA 12 Sept 1862 Enlisted at Newtonia, Newton, Missouri, USA 16 Oct 1862 sent to Camp of Instruction. He was taken prisoner 8 Jan 1863 paroled 14 June 1865 discharged at Shreveport, LA.

A note about his marriages: 1st marriage: Logan appears to be the father of Lena E Antle born 1874 that married Fred Cole. 2nd marriage to Hattie Moody, the record only records a E. L. (Everett Logan?) Antle of Exeter, Barry Co., and Mrs. Hattie Moody of Eureka Springs AR (no other record to verify this marriage. 3rd Marriage to Mrs. Tennessee Mitchell appears to have ended in divorce.
