Berryhill was a Veteran of the Florida War and the Southern Confederacy and
was at the Battle of Pea Ridge. He served under Private Capt. Roberts, Tenn.
Mtd. Vols., Fla. War, also. He had had two land warrants and was a teamster.
He drew a pension and lived in Barry County most of his life. K. C. Broyles
was a daughter of George & Catherine (Vaught) Broyles. This photo was
touched up - he wore a patch on his left eye, because he fell in the fire
and burned it so badly that he couldn't see out of it. He was an
elliptic and was subject to seizures. Since that disease is passed on
through the female line none of his descendants were effected with it. |
