Sale of personal property held 20 April 1867. Buyers included Calvin, John, Walter and Absalom Carney, Charles Galloway and many neighbors. Court Minutes: June Term 1867, 2nd day, 4 June 1867. Estate of Thomas Carney, deceased. “Now at this day comes Calvin and John Carney, administrators of the estate of Thomas Carney, deceased. They report that they have on hand of said estate the sum of twenty-four hundred dollars subject to distribution not needed to pay debts. It is ordered that they distribute said sum among the legal distributees of said deceased and take there rescpt(?) for the same.”

Crevens invoice: “Calvin Carney to Joseph Crevens 1859 for services as attorney in case against Carney in Stone Circuit Court $ 25 Rec’d of Calvin Carney as cost on execution against Wm __ Gore in favor of said Carney the sum of $ 7.80 this April 15, 1871. W B Cox Sheriff, Stone County."
Letter from Thomas Carney, Jr. “Izard Co AR Nov 5th 1871 Brother Calvin. I rite you a line to let you no that I am yet living and family also lives vary well in this county. Money; corn worth from 30 to 50 cts wheat 150 per bushel, no price lot yet I guess 4 or 5 cts. I have had bad health for 2 or 3 years but my health is tolerable good. I have been acting deputy sheriff this year and it is paying well. I will continue to act next year I have been thinking I would come out there this fall but have not had any time I would like to see you all I think I could enjoy myself with you for a time. John rote you had one hundred dollars of money collected for me & I rote him too thru him to send it to me by express & want you to send it to me if you please by Express & greatly oblige you brother & friend. I do not understand why John did not send it as i authorized him at my own risk if you send it direct a follows to Thomas Carney Lechsenport AR & rite me immediately that you have sent it and direct your letter to Lacross AR. Please rite Walter Carny post office as I have not heard from him. Calvin come down to see us as you dont no how glad I would be to see you down here ... you never can to see me please rite what Burton is doing & where he lives & all about your family you will please attend that business for me & always your friend & brother. I will look for an answer from you I am you friend & brother as ever.
