Stabbing Affray

Monday night about 11 o'clock, at Mrs. Watson's residence in West Monett, Jack Slankard and Bob Hord got into trouble. A fight ensured during which Hord was stabbed in the left side under the arm and near the left collar bone. He was also cut slightly on the left arm. The cut in the side entered the cavity, and is regarded by Dr. Hawkins, the attending physician, as quite serious. After the affray Slankard skipped out and at last accounts had not been found. Both men have families and are said to be tough citizens. Monett Leader.
