Jail Delivery: Six prisoners in the county jail made their escape Friday night. There were seven confined but George Thomas, whose sentence is about out, refused to go. Those who escaped are as follows: $50. reward being offered for the capture of Baker and $25 each for the others. John Thompson, horse stealing, about 15 years of age, dark complexion, 5 feet, 2 1/2 inches. W. B. Watson, displaying a deadly weapon, 36 years of age, 5 feet, 7 inches in height, complexion dark and is part Indian. John Muns, 18 years old, 5 feet, 9 1/2 inches in height, dark complexion, dark eyes. Thomas Gausby, alias James Lewis, 18 years of age, dark complexion, and dark eyes and 5 feet, 8 inches in height. Charles Baker, charged with murder, 32 years of age, 5 feet, 4 1/2 inches in height, light blue eyes, light complexion. George Thomas, who refused to go said that the men threaten to kill him if, he made any noise. He says he does not know how they got the door open, which leads from the cells to the corridor surrounding the cage. After getting in the corridor the men made a hole through the brick wall, under the south window, and by tying blankets together and securing one end by tying around the bars, swung to the ground. Sheriff Stephens is confident he locked the men in the cells, and says there was no possible way for them to get out, except they were let out. They could not reach the locks to the door from the inside and the wire they had secreted with which to pull the large bolt out, would have done them no good. Thomas says it was dark and he did not see how they opened the door. There was no signs that an outsider had secured entrance to assist the jail birds. From all indications some of the escape birds went toward Webb City. According to the statement of Thomas it was about one or two o'clock when they left the jail. Strangers were noticed in town Friday evening, but it is not known that they had any connection with the delivery. The discovery of their fight was not made until Saturday morning. All towns were at once notified by wire to be on the watch.
