Arrested Charged with Rape: Nate Smith of Mountain township was arrested July 3, by Sheriff O'Dwyer, on a charge of attempting to rape Virgie Windom, age 13 years. Squire Shepherd issued the warrant. Smith gave bond and the preliminary was set for July 15th. It was said the charges of rape will not be substantiated, but that another charge will be made.
