John A. Carnes, 88, a resident of Rt. 1, Purdy, Mo. died Feb. 14, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Monett, Mo.

He was born Mar. 1, 1884 in Indiana.

Survivors include eight sons; seven daughters; 33 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; one brother, Hamp Carnes of Purdy.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Sisco Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Harris officiating. Burial was in the Twelve Corners Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
