Mrs. Carter, wife of J. D. Carter and mother of Mrs. Dr. Mars and Mrs. Edmondson, died at her home on Fourth Street last Sunday morning and was laid to rest in Monett Cemetery, Monday afternoon, Pastor Sullens, Templeton and Jones having charge of the funeral services.

Mrs. Carter was born in Pennsylvania in the year of 1842. At the age of seven, she went with her parents to Iowa. In 1864, she was married to J. C. Carter at Burlington.
