Paulinie Metcalf Lady, was born in Estill County, Kentucky, March 26, 1875. She was married to S.L. Lady, March 8, 1889. She professed faith in Christ in 1889, joined the United Baptist Church in Estill County Kentucky and has lived a devoted christian life. She departed this life Oct 10, 1925 age 50 years, 6 months, 10 days. She leaves a husband, a foster son, Alfred Land, four sisters and four brothers. The sister are: Mrs. G. M. Pearson, Springdale, Ark., Mrs. A. J. Land, Pierce City, Mo., Mrs. J.M. Jones, Purdy, Mo. and Mrs. Fred Pond. The brothers are: E. J. Metcalf, Cassville, Mo; E.L. Metcalf, Neosho, Mo; John and K.P. (should be R.P.) Metcalf, Shade, Ky, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death. She bore her illness with the best of patience and courage. She was layed to rest in the Clark cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.C. Trebenor. A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Contributed. Research Note: Sol and "Pliney" (Metcalf) Lady were married in Dearborn Co., IN. (I have a copy of the marriage record.) The brothers listed were John, Reuben Palmer, Elijah James and Elisha L. (my great grandfather.) John and Reuben lived out their lives in KY. |
