Uncle Billy Ledgerwood, one of Barry County's oldest citizens and an early settler of that section of the county, died at his home near Shell Knob, Monday afternoon following a paraletic stroke which first struck him last Friday nigh. He had been unconscious since. Just a few short days ago, this excellent character celated is 88th birthday, at which time the above photograph of him was made by W.T. Sallee of this city. Mr... Sallee also prepared averty interesting article on this aged character's life which appears elsewhere in this issue of the Democrat. Most all of Uncle Bill's life had been spent in the Shell Knob Country, where he first located after coming to this county. His good wife preceded him in death several years ago. He leaves two sons, Sam of Winslow, Ark., and Grover, with whom he made his home for many years, and one daughter, Mrs... Arthur Henbest of near Washburn.
