PIONEER RESIDENT OF POWELL PASSES AWAY

William Butler Little was born April 6, 1850 in Clinton County, Kentucky and departed this life March 25, 1929 at Powell, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years eleven months and nineteen days.

He was married to Susan Margaret Hopkins of Overton County, Tennessee, January 18, 1870. To this union eight children were born of which only three survive, three having died in infancy. A daughter, Alice passed away June 2, 1895, and a son, Caldwell who preceded his father eleven months and twenty-two days. Those who survive are: Mrs. J. T. Hodge of near Bethpage, Mrs. W. H. Northcutt of near Rocky Comfort and Clyde Little of Denver, Colorado.

He has lived in McDonald County for the last fifty-eight years and near Powell for thirty-seven years.

He has been a member of the Baptist Church since he was 13 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 26 at the Union Church by Rev. Norris. The body was laid to rest in the Union Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Undertaking.
