Leo Ernest Martin, age 76, of Purdy, died at 3:20 a.m. August 17 at Granby House Care Center following a brief illness.
He was born September 9, 1926, in Princeton, Kansas, and was a son of Clarence and Grace (Tharp) Martin. He was retired from Alltel and Barry County Mutual Insurance Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Purdy, where he was an Elder and Sunday school superintendent and treasurer.

He married Ruby McCracken on October 9, 1948, in Berryville, Arkansas, and she preceded him in death December 2, 1995.

Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, August 20, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Steve Cable and Rev. Rob Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Butterfield under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.
