Her last severe illness began last summer and culminated in her death yesterday morning. The weapon in the hands of the grim reaper that removed her from mortality and caused unremitting and intense suffering was cancer. So it will be evident to all that the angel of death was not unwelcome as her last words would indicate, She said: "God will take care of me and my children." During the last month of her illness, in addition to her husband and children, she was comforted by the presence of a sister, Mrs. N. A. Hilton of Merrill, Oregon, who has been with her for a month. Mrs. Hughel was the daughter of a Christian minister, Rev. George Houston and was born near Cassville, Missouri, February 5th, 1883. When eighteen years of age she was married to Thomas Dodd, at Purdy, Missouri. This union was blessed with two children Bertha Estella, now sixteen years of age and Norman, now fourteen. The Dodd family moved from Missouri to Oklahoma and from there to Rocky Ford, Colorado, and in 1905 to the Uintah Indian reservation where Mr. Dodd, soon after died. Five years ago she was united in marriage with Niel Hughel, and to them was born one child, Louise Hughel now four years of age. Mrs. Hughel is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lena Anderson, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. S. H. Purvine, Wentworth, Mo.; Mrs. E. A. King, Bonanza, Ore.; Mrs. C. A. Stinnett, Wentworth, Mo.; Mrs. N. A. Hilton, Merril, Ore.; James E. Houston, Kansas City, Mo.; George, Eufaula, Okla.; John A. Whiterocks, Utah and William, Cassville, Mo. Her brother, Noah visited her since she came to Vernal and died October 12, 1916?. Telegrams were sent to all Mrs. Hughel's brother and sisters. The funeral services are being held at the Vernal first ward house under the auspices of that ward. John A. Houston and Norman Dodd reached Vernal and from Whiterocks last night. From a Vernal, Utah Paper. *** Mrs. Chas. W. Jones Passes Away March 24: Another happy home has been made sad by the departure of an excellent wife, mother, neighbor and citizen, surrounded by a loving husband, sons and daughters. Her life was one worthy of emulation and her foot prints should be followed by her loved ones. Miss Charity M. Gillmore was born Jan. 16, 1854 and died March 24, 1917, at her home in Liberty township, age 63 years, 2 months and 8 days. She united with the Baptist Church when 13 years of age and later united with the Christian Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death at Exeter. She was married to Charles W. Jones, Jan. 13, 1878, and was the mother of five children, four of whom survive her, who are: Rex of Colorado, Lynn, Keith Jones and Mrs. Lela Lauderdale of near Exeter. Rev. J. S. McQueen conducted funeral services at the Concord Presbyterian Church, Sunday at 2 p.m., where a large number of sympathizing neighbors and friends assembled to pay the last tribute of respect tot he departed. The remains were interred in the cemetery at the cemetery at that place. She had lived a righteous life and has now gone to her reward for her faithfulness.
