Thomas H. Robberson Dies very suddenly

Another home has been visited by death and the spirit was beckoned to depart from this earth and go hence to its reward. The summons came sudden and apparently without pain, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 7 days.

Thomas H. Robberson died Saturday evening, May 26, 1917, at his home in the Oak Ridge neighborhood, about 5 miles northeast of this city. He had been out doing some choiring about his feed lot and returned to the home, feeling badly and his wife met him in the yard and told him he had better go in the house and lay down, when he died suddenly.

He was born in Tennessee, Sept. 19, 1850, and when a boy his parents moved to Barry County and he had made this county his home since. He had lived near Purdy, this city and near Golden. He had been married four time and his last wife, Mrs. Martha Robberson survives him. The children of the first marriage are: Elmon and Mrs. Mattie Henderson of Purdy, and Ora E. Robberson of Scapula, Okla.; the children of the second marriage are: Mrs. Jas. Jefferson and Mrs. Norman McNabb of near Cassville and Wm., whose address is unknown; of the third marriage: Ferrell Roberson of Scapula, Okla., and Emil and Leo of Cassville.

His health had been bad for some time and he had been on the gradual decline. The day of his death, he spent several hours at the store at Oak Ridge and seemingly was feeling fairly well.

The body was conveyed Monday to New Salem Church on Kings Prairie where Rev. J. W. Ennes conducted services and interment was made in the Goodnight Cemetery near the church.

Dr. J. T. Cozad Dead

A message was received in this city Wednesday morning from  S. M. Cozad at Ft. Worth, Texas, to Mrs. Cozad, information her of the death of Dr. J. T. Cozad, his brother there, May 20th and informing her the death of Dr. J. T. Cozad, his brother there, May 20th, and informing her that the remains would be shipped to this city on the morning of May 30, for interment in the Cozad lot in Oak Hill Cemetery in this city.

Dr. Cozad was a native of Ohio, but had resided at Ft. Worth, Texas, for forty years, where he had practiced medicine for that time and was a retired physician at the time of his death. He was a bachelor.

His brother, S. M. Cozad went to Ft. Worth some three weeks ago to attend his brother and remained with him until his passing of heart trouble, aged 73 years.

The remains arrived Thursday noon accompanied by his brother, who were met at Exeter, by several friends and a large number met them at the depot in this city on their arrival, when they were conveyed to the home of the brother and there remained until the burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Friday afternoon.

The decedent left three brothers, one sister, two brothers and the sister reside in Ohio and S. M. Cozad of this city.

The mingling with death in all forms, is a reminder that not long hence, we too must humbly bow in submission to the death angel, who is no respecter of persons and our transitions only a short ways off  at longest. Are you ready?
