Writes From France

Glenn Tucker of this city who is now with the American Expeditionary Forces in Frances writes the following letter to Sheriff Houston:

Marlaincourt, France,

January 15, 1919

Mr. William Houston,

Dear Friend:

I received your letter a few days ago and was sure glad to hear from you. I am O.K.

Well, I do not know when we are gong back to the states but not for a couple of months away. I hate to have to stay over here any longer, but I am in the army now.

It is not cold here, never has frozen any but it is awfully wet and muddy.

We are not having to drill much now. We drill of a mornings and play one hour afternoon and then we are done until the next day, so you see that isn't very hard.

We were on the Metz when the Armistice was signed.

I received a letter from Vern Joslin the other day, he is quite a distance from here but "Jolly" Hanes and Ralph Hawk are only about 15 miles away. I did not get to see them. I hope they will start us home in a few days.
