Asher Terrell Badly Injured

While hauling a wagon load of hay, Wednesday, Asher Terrell fell off his wagon, the wheels passing over his right arm between the shoulder and elbow, crushing it badly. The wheels also passed over his body, injuring him internally. This occurred east of Travers, on the Scotch road. Dr. Salyer attended him. He is about 58 years old.

Benj. Clark Dead

Another old time citizen was collected? by Father Time from the link of lives? to be welded? in bonds of love in Holy city where tis eternal delight, joy and happiness so inheritance for a well spent life on earth.

Benj. Clark died at his home near Shell Knob Dec.26, of complication of diseases, rather suddenly. He was a son of late Rev. Phillip Clark, a well known Christian minister of the Golden neighborhood, and was a member of the Christian Church. He left his wife and 5 or 6 sons to mourn his passing. He was about 56? years old.

Mrs. J. R. Wallen Dead

When an excellent wife, mother and citizen is called from earth in a name in the Holy City as an inheritance for a Godley? life here on earth, it lacerates hearts and gives great s___ to some to that once happy home for the separation yet it is something those relatives to know that she was prepared for the passing on?. Her home life had been filled with? love? for she displayed in ___ ____ of a loved  ___.  ___ far bet loved Christians will be ___iable with now set ___tho__ ___  in since days and ... {not readable} loved ones will be directed in the same way.  {can't read rest of paragraph.}

Miss Ida Gertrude Perrine was born June 27, 1875 in Minneapolis, Minn., and came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Perrine to Barry County in 1880. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 15 years and united with the C. P. Church and later she united with the Corinth Baptist Church in 1907? and lived a consistent Christian life to the end. Jan. 15, 1899, she and John R. Wallen were united in marriage and this union was born three children, two sons and one daughter. She died at her home in Cassville, Dec. 28, 1919, at 12:30 p.? m. after an illness of three or four months of  ___ of the heart, aged 44 years, 6 months and 1 day. She bore her afflictions with patience and was always hopeful of recovery. Everything that could be done by skilled physicians and loving hands was done but to no avail. She was an affectionate wife and a devoted and loving mother and a faithful Christian and a good neighbor and will be greatly missed. She left her husband two sons, Roy, age 19?, John Herbert, age 10, and one daughter, Jewell, aged 12. She also leaves two brothers, James of Argentine, Kan., Fred of Pleasanton, Cal, and three sisters., Mrs. Florence Morton of Hermit, Cal., Mrs. Malissa Horn of Hood River, Oregon and Mrs. Lille Abernathy of Kansas City, Kan. to morn her passing.  

Rev. J. T. Brattin conducted services at the Baptist Church in this city, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. where a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends had assembled to pay last tribute of love and respect to a good woman.

She was a member of the ___ Neighbor Camp and the remains were interred in Oak Hill Cemetery at this place with high? honors.

Mrs. Albert Beeson Dead

Another home has been made sad by a visit of the death angel, who summoned a good wife, mother and citizen to a better world, leaving ___ ___ to mourn her departure.

Mrs. Albert Beeson residing __ miles northeast of Cassville, died suddenly Sunday evening at 5? p.m. of heart trouble age 46 years. She left her husband and two children. She was a daughterr of Dow Ennis and was a member of the Prostant Methodist Church. Interment as made in Ennis Cemetery.

Billy Stubblefield and wife of near McDowell visited their daughter Mrs. L. A. Thomas and family at Crane, last week.

C. M. Cope of Crane Creek township, a well known Hereford breeder has added a fine cow and calf of O__ Lad? branding to his already large herd. They cost him $465.

T. W. Bennage of Marionville died Dec. 21, at age of 54.

J. R. Taylor of near Aurora, is dead at age 83 years.

Rev. Harry Cook, a well known Christian minister, formerly of Aurora, will soon go to New Mexico for his health, which we hope will be restored.

Walter Draper, a Frisco engineer, died on his train, Dec. 24, near Carl Junction, age 46 years. He left a wife and one sister. He was a son of late G. B. Draper, and years ago, the Draper family resided at Exeter. His home was in Monett.

Dr. and Mrs.  W. H. Mills of Washburn, visited friends in Springfield, last week.

A. J. McDowell, Frisco dairy agent, has gone to Wisconsin, to purchase a car of high grade Holstein cows for prominent farmers of St. Clair county.

The Berryville, Ark. Star records the facts that two brothers of his first wife, are making  Col. Iverson Jones of Carroll County, Ark., some trouble, by claiming a portion of his fine farm. The first wife died without having any children and a portion of the farm belonged to the first Mrs. Jones.  

David Walker Baker died at Neosho, Dec. 21, age 75 years. He was a son of late Dr. A. A. Baker of Berryville, Ark., and a brother of Mrs. E. J. Black and Mrs. M. M. Poynor of Berryville, Ark.

Mrs. Joe J. Manlove of Pierce City, is recovering from an attack of typhoid fever at a Fayetteville, Ark., hospital.

Miss Mary Fogg, who is teaching at Lone Walnut, spent the holidays with homefolks.

Frank Thomas of Wayne, Okla., visited his father R. L. Thomas an other relatives in this vicinity. It had been 15 years since he had been here and he noted many changes. He likes this county and is looking for a location. He is a minister and held services at the Horner Church, while here. He is an able speaker.

Mrs. Fenix Henbest of Miami, Okla., was a visitor at Maple Grove, Thursday of last week.

Seligman

Estell Wilson resigned his position in J. W. Baker's garage and went to Okla.

Bayless School closed Christmas day with a big dinner. George Stapleton and Miss Etta Hammers have taught a good school, they say.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm of Exeter, spent Christmas with their son Jess and family.

Miss Clara Whitener and a gentlemen from Arizona were married Saturday  p. m. at Cassville.

Pasley

Bert Reams is recovering from an attack of pneumonia.

A little son of Leonard McCandless has had the pneumonia but is improving. These two cases is the most sickness we have had in our neighborhood.

Brush Creek

Asa Foster and Miss Alpha Mitchell were married Dec. 23. We wish them a happy new year.

Arthur Michael and wife spent Saturday night and Sunday with the latter's parents Mr. and Mrs. Wade.

Ed Antle and his friend John Hammons of Tulsa, Okla., spent Christmas week with Ed's mother, Mrs. Antle at Exeter.

Ami Morton's Mill at Travers is ready to crush your corn, cob and all.

Born to Lee Green and wife, southeast of this city, Dec. 31, 1919, a son.

The 2 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judge Erwin of Wayne died Dec. 23, 1919 of whooping cough and pneumonia. Rev. P. B. Hodge conducted funeral services at Truelove Church on 24th and interment was made in cemetery there. A tender plant has been transported to heaven to bloom eternally. 

John Callan of Monett, had business in Cassville, Monday, John is another one of the boys that time has ___ ___ and made one of the old timers. He has lived in Barry County from early boyhood and saw Monett grow from a corn field to a city of 5,000. John said to send The Democrat on, as it was a good paper and they could no do without it.

Tone Edens and son Fred returned Monday from a trip to Arkansas with mules and horses.

Married by Rev. J. T. Brattin at the residence so Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Raye? in Cassville, Monday, Harley T. Wagner and Miss Viola? Shoemate of Monett. The bride is a niece of Mrs. Hase?

Hellia? Shore of Sapulpa, Okla., visited his father Elmer Shore and family the firs of the week.

L. Means, daughter and family from Texas, are here on a visit.

Wayne

Earl Mill and wife are spending the holidays with her parents here. Earl has been railroading in North Mo., for sometime.

Will Edens and family of Texas, are visiting his brother Elbert and family east of Wayne; also other relatives and around Exeter.

Charlie Brattin is cutting a car load of wood with his wood saw, that he aims to ship from Wayne, soon.

Sunnyside

D. D. Still visited his mother Mrs. Cynthia Still Sunday. He ___ her but very well.

Mrs. Sol Lady of Washburn spent Christmas week with her sister Mrs. J. M. Jones.

Burke Haney came in from Texas, Sunday last, to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Haney.

Jas. Holman and family spent Christmas with W. H. Holman and family.

Matt Poyner and children from Oklahoma re visiting his father-in-law Harvey Aldridge.

Chas. Cooper visited his sister, Mrs. Jas. Holman the first of the week.

George Smith and family spent Sunday with his mother Mrs. Sarah Smith.

Lone Walnut

Mr. and Mrs. George Brannam visited at Garfield, Saturday and Saturday night.

Rev. Birks filled his regular appointment at this place Sunday.

Wheaton

Lloyd Ghan and Miss Vergie Cartwright, two of Wheaton's poplar citizen's were married Dec. 24 at the residence of J. H. Davis, justice of the peace. 

Walter Johnson of Clayton, N. M., has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. ? Johnson and family here.

Gerald Tarvin has returned from a visit with his sister Mrs. Ocie Gibson at Crumb, Okla.

Washburn - Greasy

Mr. Kessler and J. G. Dodd and son Claud from Minnesota, where taking a look at Blockade country Tuesday, Mr. Dodd was here during the war and was at the battle of Pea Ridge, Ark., their wives were in the party and had a picnic dinner.

Mr. Fox and wife are here from Springfield, they are going to locate in Mr. Guiles' house east of town.

Nelson Paul will be here this week to take charge of the farm he recently bought from W. C. Gaire?.

Fred Surrett and wife are visiting with the home folks on Greasy Creek. He is interested in the oil business in the southwest.

Levi Crim and a part of his crew from this town, are home for a few days.

Reason Garroute, who is serving a time in the county jail, was allowed to go to his father's home near Madry, Monday to attend his father who is very sick. Later - his father died.

W. O. Gates has moved to his Walnut Spring ranch. He has a fine watered place, Chalybeate water among the best, he could make a profit, shipping station here.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keesler are entering relatives from Minnesota this week.

Walter Cargile will have charge of Mr. McCary's establishment?  ___ to Buffalo. They are having trouble getting a car.

H. S. Little of Cedarville, Ohio, was in this city Tuesday and went to Eagle Rock.

Frank Moffatt and wife were with the homefolks Christmas.

Frank Campbell from Oklahoma is visiting his parents Chas. and Mrs. Campbell.

Walter Jones and Chandler Davis had business on sugar creek Monday. They probably thought fish would bite.

Judge Frost from Rogers, Ark., formerly of this place had business here last week.

Miss Blake Frost, Rogers, Ark., visited her sister Mrs. Westfall this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Journey from Tar River, Okla., are visiting relatives her this week.
