Obituary: Departed this life at her her home on Kings Prairie, Dec 7, 1910, Mrs. Martha Jackson, age 75 years. She leaves three sons, Allen, Henry, and Andrew, all of the Prairie, one brother and two sisters, Rev. F. E. Hammers of Springfield, Mrs. Kate Lucky of Marionville and Mrs. Brown of Floresville, Texas. Was married to I. K. Jackson in 1856. The funeral services was held at New Liberty Church conducted by Rev. Geo. Qualls, pastor, in the presence of a large and sympathizing congregation. The remains were laid to rest beside the companion of her youth, Uncle Ike Jackson, who proceeded her 15 years ago. Aunt Martha, as she was familiarly called, professed Jesus Christ in early youth, joined the M. E. Church when it was organized at New Liberty, 33 years ago. She was a kind and affectionate mother, loved and beloved by her children and a devoted Christian. Her prayers and pleadings for the unsaved made deep impressions. In the organization of the New Liberty Sunday school 35 years ago by J. M. Hover and Samuel Moore, which still retains the same, Aunt Martha took charge of the primary class. When a new house was built a few years after Uncle Ike bought the old log house and moved it in his years where it had been standing these long years as a reminder from day to day of her pleading to the little ones for a pure life. Her life work here is ended but the seed that has been sown is still bringing harvest. A Friend.
