Nov 3, 1910, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO An Aged Citizen Gone Monday about 11 o'clock, Oct 31, 1910, Peter Catron died at his home about 2 1/2 miles northwest of Cassville. He had been very feeble for months and his passing away cam as no surprise to those who knew his condition and advanced age. Peter Catron was one of the county, oldest and most highly respected citizens and he will be greatly missed in the community. Obituary will appear next week. Local Items Mrs. May Hagler, wife of Amon Hagler of Purdy, died Tuesday morning, Nov 1st of tuberculosis, age 23 years. Fay Lilford has fever at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. W. Turner. P. A. Varner south of town will visit his daughter, Mrs. C. F. Bedkin, at Maud, Oklahoma, during next month. Mrs. A. L. Brown and Mrs. H. M. Allen are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sater at Miller. Mrs. William Gilbert and little son of Monett are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Bledsoe. The news switchboard for the Mutual Phone line has been installed, with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Roller of Garfield as operators. Dr. J. S. Foster was at Washburn Thursday as examining physician for the M. W. A. They began Woodcraft with a class of twenty. Mrs. Nancey Eubanks of Todd, Okla., has been visiting relatives near Mano. She was accompanied home by her mother, Mrs. Eunice Stewart. H E. Pinney took them to Exeter Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Cunningham of Morrisville, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Sims of Paint Rock, Tex, returned to their homes Wednesday morning after a week's visit with J. W. LeCompte and family. Mrs. Sims and Mrs. Cunningham are sisters of J. W. LeCompte. Robt. Easley, one of the county's prosperous farmers who lives in the Roach neighborhood, was transacting business here Monday. W. T. Ayers has sold the old Stubblefield farm southwest of town to an Iowa man, consideration was $65. per acre. There are 345 acres in the tract. The purchaser will move tot he far at once. Mrs. M. E. Newman went to Altoona, Kan., Saturday evening to visit a sister. J. T. Cook and family started Wednesday on heir trip to Oklahoma where they will purchase a farm. They are making the trip overland. Bob Callaway went to Kansas City last night to undergo a slight operation. He may be gone a couple of weeks. Monett Star, Oct. 27 Mrs. James Elrod of Carterville has been visiting her father, Doc James, and brother, Chas. James, south of town for the past week. She is in poor health. Grant McKee the Viola Miller spent Sunday night in Cassville. Seligman Mrs. Willis Gilbert and little son of Monett are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Bledsoe. Mr. and Mrs. Will Wardlow are happy over arrival of a new baby in their home. Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm have a new baby in their home, Oct. 27th.
Washburn Mrs. Jno. Adcock who has been sick is improving. Rev. Brattin gave a fine temperance lecture here Friday night. Ada Call, who is teaching at Trent Creek spent Sunday at home. Palace Young moved south of town last week on the W. L. Black farm. Mrs. Walter Jones and son Walter, are visiting Mr. Jones' parents at Lohmarsburg. Mrs. Jennie Hamilton went to Bentonville Monday to spend the winter with relatives. T. M. Shelton and daughter, Lillian, of Roaring River visited relatives here Thursday. Rev. Flaherty moved his mother Saturday, she will spend the winter with him. Mrs. Lawrence and children left Saturday for North Missouri to live with her parents. Cassville High School Report of A. C.
