A Mother Gone: Death is sad at any time but a most unwelcome visitor when it enters a home and takes a mother in the prime of her life with little children looking to her for a mother's love and tender care. Allie Gaskins Talbert was born Aug 14, 1876. Married to Chas. L. Talbert, Nov. 27, 1897. Having lived in this vicinity all her life, she was known to be an excellent woman, wife and mother. The large crowd at the funeral services Thursday was the strongest testimonial of the high respect in which she was held. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Geo. Yarbrough at the Christian Church and the remains laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. The bereaved husband and little children have the sympathy of their many friends in their irreparable loss.

W. J. Lance Found Guilty: The case against W. J. Lance of Pineville for attempting to obtain money through fraud came up in the Federal Court at Joplin, Monday and occupied the attention of the court until noon Wednesday. When the case was given to the jury, which after a short deliberation, found him guilty and his sentence will be fixed by the Judge. Lance was charge with sending a letter from the little log cabin post office at Arnett, MO, to a bank in Rogers, Ark., forging the signature of J. F. Laughlin, a customer of the bank, to an order for the sum of $1,175. Later it was charged, he wrote to the bank stating that the letter was unclaimed and making a commission of ten per cent for such notification. Pineville Democrat.

News comes from J. L. Buchanon at Paola, Kan., that two of his sons were recently drowned. Mr. Buchanon a few months ago traded for the McCandless stock of groceries and later traded the grocery store to Z. L. Roberts for the C.D. Higginbotham 20 acre farm south of town.

Married at the home of P. D. Michael, father of he groom, J. Walter Michael and Miss Lizzie V. Wade all of ash No. 2. Few guests outside the relatives were present, these were: Wm. Hopkins and daughter, Flossie and Jessie McKibbin. D. T. Hutchinson, officiated.

Birthday Dinner: Sunday, Jan 15, was the 67 birthday of Mrs. Boone Haddock of near Eagle Rock. About seventy of her relatives, friends and neighbors gathered at the Boone Haddock home and set a fine dinner in honor of Mrs. Haddock's having received the sixty-seven mile post on the journey of life.

Mrs. and Mrs. Boone Haddock are not the oldest citizens but few in the county have lived here as long as they. Both are native born citizens of Barry County. Boone Haddock was born on Roaring River, Nov 22, 1839.

Exeter News: Grant Browning died at his home north of town one mile, Friday, a.m., aged about 40 years. He had been sick for quite a while with a complication of diseases. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, Saturday p. m. by Rev. C. M. Smith and interment made in Maplewood Cemetery. He leaves a wife and five children and was a son of Jas. Browning of this place.

Exeter News: Henry C. Jones died at his home here Wednesday, Jan 11, 1911 of a spinal trouble, age 76 years, 9 months, and 7 days. He was born in Scioto County, Ohio. He leaves a wife, one brother, and a half sister to mourn his death. He was a member of the M. E. Church for many years. He had been a member of the Christian Church about ten years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Yarbourgh at the home and the remains laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery Wednesday.
