Pioneer Citizen Dead: William Hisaw, one of this county's pioneer citizens, passed away at his home on Capps Creek in the northwestern part of the county, Friday, June 13, at the advanced age of 77 years, from cancer of the stomach.

He had lived in this country since the early thirties, having moved when only a year old with his parents who came from Tennessee. His father, William Hisaw, was one of the early settlers of the country, having settled on Capps Creek near the Newton County line in 1836. From infancy he has lived on the same farm homesteaded by his father. During the Civil War he served two years and ten months in the Confederate army as a member of Company G. Eight Missouri Infantry. In the eighties he served two years as a member of the country court from the western district. At that time he took an active part in all enterprise that were for the public benefit.

On  December 6, 1855, he was married to Nancy Richardson who also came from one of the oldest families to settle in this county. She died died about eight years ago. To them were born seven children. Five are still living. They are: Mary E. West of Oklahoma, Melissa L. Slankard, Mary S. Cummings, Fred and Walter Hisaw of Peirce [Pierce] City.  

In the death of William Hisaw the county loses a good citizen and one of its oldest settlers. He was one of the citizens, most of whom have passed away, whose life history makes up the greater part of the history of this county.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and he body laid to rest in the Jolly Cemetery.

Harry Bass Dead: Harry Bass passed away at Hugo, Okla., Wednesday morning, June 18, 1913, of Bright's disease Age 33 years. Harry had been in poor health for some time and had resigned his position at Hugo with the Frisco Railroad to regain his former health. Only a few weeks ago he came to Cassville from Springfield where he had been taking treatment in the Frisco hospital. His illness seemed to become more serious and Monday he went to Hugo for treatment but soon fell a victim to his afflictions.

Harry Bass was born in Trousdale County, Tennessee, November 14, 1879. When a boy he moved with his mother, Mrs. Lou Bass, to Hinesville, Ark., where they resided until about thirteen years ago when they moved to this county and settled in the Horner locality, southeast of town. At the age of 27 he was married to Miss Nora Smith, who survives him. For the the past few years the family has been at Hugo where Harry was an employee of the Frisco. Besides a wife and mother, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lula Moore, of Hugo, Okla., and brother, Charley, and other relatives of Cassville.

Harry was well known in and around Cassville. He was a quite and reserved citizen and ever mindful only of his own affairs. He was well liked and his friends will regret to hear of his death.

His body will arrive from Hugo, this morning (Thursday). At the time of going to press the funeral arrangements had not been definitely made.

Mrs. Hunter Anderson Passes Away: Mrs. Jessie Anderson, wife of Hunter Anderson, and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Shepherd died about 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Her ailments were due to a general complication of diseases.

She was born in this city, August 16, 1889, and had lived here all her life.  She was a member of he Cassville Baptist Church and enjoyed the esteem of her acquaintances. Besides her husband, father and mother, she is survived by two brothers and three sisters. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon by Rev. J. T. Brattin at the Baptist Church and the body laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.

On Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock occurred the marriage of Miss Fay Beaty to C. E. Wainright, at the home of the bride's father, Sam'l Beaty. Rev. W. M. Wainright, father of the groom, performed the impressive ceremony. The wedding was a quite home affair, only the immediate families of the bride and groom being present. A dainty luncheon was served, after which Mr. and Mrs. Wainright left for Forth Smith, Ark., where they will make their home, Mr. Wainright having a position with the Frisco at that place. These are excellent young people and they have the best wishes of their many friends in Monett. Monett Times.
