My interest in saving history in documents and photo's started in the 1970s when my Mother and I wrote Our Easleys, a family history. Since then I've photographed cemeteries such as the Antioch, Vineyard, Old Easley, Easley at Eagle Rock, Munsey, Whittington, Roach, Russell at Roaring River & Horner. Also I did the hand transcriptions for Viney Creek. With Donna Haddock Cooper's help, we photographed New Site, Kings, Calton and Chitwood Cemeteries. I have contributed several photos of headstones of family members to other cemeteries.

Some years ago we would just listed the names of folks in the Barry County Cemeteries and I also did some of that. Then I began to be interested in the people in those graves and tried to find out more and write short stories about them as some of those in Focus on Eagle Rock and Focus on Roaring River. I asked others to contribute copies of photographs of folks in those areas. Some of the articles I've done on the Barry County site have to do with mills such as the Calton Mill, County Poor Farm and Bayless House.

When the school houses are still standing, I take photos and send them to the site and if others give school photos to me I asked them if we can share them with the Barry Co., MO site. They say we need to study history so as to not repeat the same mistakes, my mistake was in not starting sooner and doing more.
