My contributions consist of photographing several cemeteries and submitting obits and family photos. However, I feel my main contribution to MOBARRY and the people of Barry County has been the restoration work performed in our Barry County cemeteries. I restored my first cemetery in 1998.

In 2005 the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society appropriated funds so that cemetery restoration work could continue. Ted Roller, Jay Trace and I became the Cemetery Restoration and Preservation Committee. Since its conception, several cemeteries have been restored and preserved, many headstones rebuilt and reset and lost cemeteries found and recorded. Hundreds of dollars and many more hours of labor have gone into this project but I feel it is a small price to pay to preserve and honor and protect our ancestor’s final resting places.
