Donna Cooper's Research Note: George Reed was a son of Alfred and Mary Frances (Phillips) Reed. Alfred married 1st Mary Frances Phillips, 2nd Elizabeth Davis and 3rd Louisa (Bristow) Simpson. Louisa was the widow of William Simpson.

With Alfred's marriage to Louisa (Bristow) Simpson George Reed became a step-brother of Louisa's daughter, America Simpson. America Simpson was one of the great-great grandmothers of Donna Cooper.

George Reed was first married to Narcissa West who died Nov 17, 1877 and was buried in Haddock Cemetery near Eagle Rock. After her death he married Sarah Elizabeth (Garrett) Ball, widow of William Valentine Ball. They married Oct 30, 1878, in Barry County.

Sarah Garrett and William Valentine Ball were great-great grandparents of Darla and Georgia.
