Henry Clay Smithey

Paul said that he didn't know when or where this photo was taken. The original is a large oval print (about 16X14) and badly damaged.
He scanned and repaired it in Photoshop.

Henry Clay Smithey apparently came to Texas with his children sometime after Amanda Gowen's death (Sep 28,1896) and settled in Leonard, Texas. At some point he moved to Colorado. He took a second wife, named Martha. Paul doesn't know her last name or whether he married her in Texas or Colorado. He said that she must be buried in Colorado. Henry is buried in the Leonard Cemetery with his children.

Amanda is buried in Barry County, in King's Cemetery near the Gowen or Harbin house, which was the stage coach stop.
