I am looking for information on my ggrandmother Delila J. BROCK who moved to Barry Co. from McDonald Co., Mo. She had two sisters I know of and they were named Sarah BROCK and Elizabeth BROCK "Betty". I understand the two sisters married two DOUGHERTY brothers. Delila was First married to a Florinton R. BENNETT, John Motley HEWLETT and finally married an Oscar SHRUM. Delila operated a Boarding House in Oronogo, Mo., in the early 1900's. Would appreciat any information you migh have on her.
I am looking for any information on Jessie & Girtie WILLIAMS. They lived in Sugar Creek, Seligman, Barry County in September 1935 and had two children, one was a girl. Jesse was 52 years old and Girtie was 22. By December of 1936, Girtie WILLIAMS had moved to Searcy County, Arkansas. I have no idea if she and Jesse were still married or not. I need to know who keeps the records for the Osa Cemetery in Barry Co. I am looking for Velma WILKINS and her husband Kent WILKINS I believe Velma WILKINS died IN 1937 or 1938, the funeral records show she had her service at Osa and was buried at Osa Cemetery. GUNDEL I'm not sure but rumor has it Fred GUNDEL was buried in Muncie Chapel Cemetery back in 1961. My also told me that Ada GUNDEL (d. 1997) should also be buried there beside him. SLANE Also looking Alfred (d. 1994) and Lena Marie SLANE (d.1984) which should have been buried close to them also.
Guinn EWING, along with four of his siblings, Davis, Joseph, Hardeman and Sarah EWING, were listed on the 1850 census for Barry county as living with the Alfred REED family. My great great grandmother Eliza Mariah BOWMAN widow of Absalom BOWMAN is listed in the 1870 Barry County Census near Preston LEE and Fanny LEE the widow of Isaac LEE. Eliza's husband was killed during the Civil War probably by a Steve WEATHERS about 1863. Eliza had a daughter Caroline Selena who was born probably about 1864 who died in 1868. Do you have any idea where Absalom and Caroline might have been buried since they lived near the Lees? In the 1860 Census Absalom's family was in the Sugar Creek Census and in 1870 Eliza Mariah's family was in the Flat Creek Census. Also in the Eliza Mariah BOWMAN household was her mother Nancy BUCKNER HUNT who died about 1875. Eliza's daughter Matilda married a James Young LEE in 1871. Was James Young LEE related to Isaac Lee? Eliza Maria Bowman's sister was Carolina Selena HUNT DAUGHERTY, the wife of Evan DAUGHERTY. Nancy BUCKNER HUNT was living with them in 1860. Eliza had a brother James B. HUNT who was married to Nancy ABNER who married James Lafayette SCROGGINS after James died. James had a daughter Malinda who married a William MURRAY. SCROGGINS and MURRAY owned land between Roaring River and Seligman.

Researching John DUNCAN who lived in the Barry County area in the years after the civil war. Was in the Civil War for the Union living in Newton County Arkansas at the time he enlisted. Married a Mary at Viola Missionary Church and had several children. A Mary Jane, a Samuel and a Clifford. He was originally from Gasconade MO. Was very ill and after Mary died married a Mary Jane MCGEEHEE of the Barry/Stone County area. He died in 1890. We are trying to find some of the descendants from this family. BURLEY, Jessie married to Martha Elizabeth ANDERSON, daughter of John M. ANDERSON, who is buried in the New Salem Cemetery. Jessie and Martha were married Sept 4, 1873. They had several children in the Barry, LaClede, Webster areas. Martha is buried in Kansas City MO. Jessie BURLEY was to have died in Grove Springs on 2/8/1908, but I can find no trace of him or any of the births of the BURLEY children.

Charles G. BLACK married a Harriet E. HORN 23 June1867 Flat Creek Barry, Missouri. Charles was born in Macon Co.Mo.abt 1846. 1870 and 1880 Census shows the family in FlatCreek,Barry,Mo. 1880 shows two children: JamesM.BLACK(11) and Sisy BLACK(8)-- The son James BLACK marries a Charlotte C. (?) BLACK (Barry Co.)aft.1901Census-family in Idaho with two children: Floyd BLACK (7) born: Mo and Harold BLACK (4) born Idaho. Would like to know if James and Charlotte were married in Barry Co. and if any record of the birth of their first child Floyd BLACK in Barry Co. If any records of deaths: Charles BLACK was a widow in the 1910 Census and I still do not know when they left Missouri for Idaho and then Oregon.
