Jay said that further research indicated that one of the students, Carl Coatney, died in December 1931, so the photo was probably taken about 1931.

In the Pioneer school picture, on the front row, the third boy from the left, sitting on the ground, is Eugene Stark, who was my cousin. His family lived up on top of the hill above the spring. Gene was in the first grade.
