I am looking for information on a Rev. G R Anderson and his wife, Sarah M. Work Anderson. The only information I have is that their fifth child was born on 15 Feb 1898 in Nashville, Barton, MO. The record does not show a name for this child, but I believe that it is John Keely Anderson. If anyone has information on G R and his wife, Sarah. Thank you.
VANCOURT
Barbara Miller February 19, 2005
My name is Barbara Miller and I am researching the Vancourt family. A little girl named Winnie Jewel Vancourt died in a house fire on February 6, 1921 in Nashville, Missouri. Her parents were John and Pearl (Sitts) Vancourt and she was buried in Hallsville, Mo. Can you tell me what cemetery that would be? Is there any obituary of this little girl? I am related to the this family and would appreciate any assistance you could give me. Many thanks.

BALL, HUTCHINSON, PITCHERWendy Fjelstad March 6, 2005
Searching for clues on Jessie (BALL) HUTCHINSON. Born about 1876, probably in Clinton, MO, daughter of James W. & Minnie W. (PITCHER) BALL. Not sure if HUTCHINSON is spelled correctly; could possibly be HUTCHESON or some variation. Do not know Jessie's husband's first name. Only know that in her father's obituary from a February 1938 Mayberry, KS newspaper clipping, Mrs. Jessie HUTCHINSON was reported to be living in Liberal, MO. Any help or clues welcomed and appreciated.Thank you,

AVERYKaren Johnson April 16, 2005
I'm looking for info on William H. Avery, born 1836 or 1837 in Pennsylvania. He came to Barton County in 1865 and opened a business of some sort with C.H. Brown. It may have been a stock-breeding enterprise. William was married to Nellie (maiden name unknown), and had two children, Xora (aka Emma?) and Russ. In the early 1870s, the family moved to Olympia, Washington Territory. During their time in Washington, Avery wrote many letters to Mr. Brown in Lamar. I have copies of those letters.I would like to find out more about where Avery went after he left Washington in the late 1870's; I believe he went to Los Angeles for a time. His name appears on the old settlers' list from the settlers picnic held in Barton County in 1899.I would REALLY like to find a photo of Avery. I am writing an article and presenting a program about him and his time in Washington, based on the original source documents (his letters).

My Great-Grandparents, William Henry Harrison Reynolds and Lucinda Villa McNeer Reynolds moved to Pond Creek, Oklahoma about 1900 from Iowa and in 1907 they relocated to Golden City, Missouri, Barton Co. In 1920 they were back in Iowa and that was where they died. I am trying to see if anyone would have any records of where they lived in Golden City and what his occupation was. He had worked on the railroad in Iowa and Pennsylvania. We are trying to find a reason for moving to Oklahoma. Possibly it was to homestead land. He was 60 when he went to Ok.

Since the beginning of the Annual Barton County Old Settler's Day Picnic, were there any periods during which the event was not held? Did it continue during WW1 and WW2? I am interested in personal stories from people who attended this event. I would like to incorporate my findings, your responses, into future columns. Thank you.
