Thomas GALLAGHER, owned the newspaper, the Herald, in Golden City, in 1882. He was the son-in-law of Judge David W. MOREHOUSE, who served as county judge in the late 1870's. GALLAGHER and Judge's daughter, Sarah W. MOREHOUSE GALLAGHER, were divorced in mid-1870's. GALLAGHER was a Civil War veteran and went to Herington, Kansas in the late 1880's. GALLAGHER married a Sarah TURNER, in Webb City, MO. He died ca 1897 but don't know where he is buried. Anyone with info on these families would be appreciated.

Need info on family of Charles Wesley JOHNSTON who resided in Barton co. MO in 1900. Charles W. JOHNSTON, born 1862 in ILL, son of James P. & Effie JOHNSTON, married Cynthia C. OSBORN in Chariton co. MO on 19 Jan 1883. On the 1900 census for Barton co., children included: Arthur F. age 15 , ( born 6 Feb. 1884 Chariton co. MO); Walter W. age 14, born Mar. 1886; Edward age 12, b. Feb. 1888; Effie age 11 , born Dec. 1888; William age 10 b. Apr 1890; Cora age 8 b. Feb. 1892; Pearl age 5 b. July 1894 and James P. age 2 b. Aug. 1898. On the 1920 census for Jasper co. MO three other children were added; Elsie b. June 1900; Earl E. b. 1905 and Ruth b. ca 1907. Effie married a COX and a HAGLER and died in Crane, MO in 1873. Cora married a HIPSHIRE . Who was her husband and what about children? Pearl married Harry H. BILDERBACK and died in 1940 Tillman co. OK. Elsie married Walter A. PLUMMER and died 1938 in Topeka, KS. Ruth married a LINK Earl died in Grove, OK in 1978. Would like to correspond with others researching this family. Especially would lilke to add family info on each of these children.
