James Thomas Elkins 9 Apr 1872 - 16 Dec 1933 was a representative of the Hall
Drug Company. He married a daughter of Dr. Wiley P. & Martha E. (Jackson)
Hall, founder of Hall Drug Company, probably in Bates County, before Dec 1898.
She died of meningitis during an 1898 Christmas visit
to his family in Ozark, Missouri. Dr. Hall has twin daughters, Armintha A.
"Minnie" and Dora A. born 1877 and Nettie B. born 1879. WHICH
daughter married James Thomas Elkins? Their death certificates say Dr. & Mrs.
Hall and their sons are buried at Oak Hill, Butler, and she may be
also. This was the obituary in the Ozark newspaper: "Elkins, ? (Hall)
died 23 Dec 1898 Christian County Republican 19 Dec 1898 A Sad Death Died, at
the residence of Dr. C. B. Elkins of this city Friday morning of spinal
meningitis, induced by the measles. Mrs. Jas. Elkins of Adrian, this state.
Mr. and Mrs. Elkins were visiting relatives here for the holidays when Mrs.
Elkins was taken with the measles, caught cold and death was the result. Her
father, Dr. Hall, a prominent physician of Adrain, was telegraphed for and
reached her bedside Wednesday and was with her in her last hours. The remains
were taken to Adrain Friday for interment. Jas. Elkins is a brother of Dr. C.
B. Elkins and a druggist of Adrain. Dr. Elkins accompanied the bereaved
husband and father in their sad journey."
