Someone who lives close to Buchanan County might make copies for those who
live in different areas of the country so they can transcribe the data!

There is a real need for volunteers to help with Buchanan County!

If you have research materials that you could do lookups in, PLEASE volunteer.

Also, there are plenty of public records that could be transcribed without infringing on any copyright laws! Transcribing projects are: census records, cemetery records, biographies, obituaries, bible records, deeds, wills, & pensions.

We can NOT use copyrighted material published after 1925 unless we get written permission from the author.

Data must be in a text or html file. You can use a word processing program to create the files but before you send it, save as text file (extension should be .txt) A text file is preferred.

Use five spaces instead of a tab.

No formatting (bold, underlining etc).

So we don't have a duplication of work, please let DThomp3907@aol.com know what you are planning to work on.
