HILLIS / CLARK CEMETERY (#66)
T23N R7E SEC 10
Map # 12 u
This is a landmark cemetery for the area. The oldest known stone has a death date of 1877, but we can reasonably assume that there may be graves which are older than that. Families buried in this cemetery represent the ‘old line’ names - families that are responsible for the growth and development of the area bordering the Black River between Carola and Ash Hill.

HILLIS, Jacob [son of Samuel, above, is said to be buried in Hillis Cemetery. No marker is now found for him]
HILLIS, Samuel, d. 1867
