Obituary from The Citizen, dated
Died: Mrs Nancy STOKES KIRK, one of the oldest inhabitants in the county. The
deceased is the mother of Peter NANCE, and is survived by husband John KIRK who is 84 years
old, and another son Monroe KIRK. The deceased came from Kentucky 85 years ago, and
lived all her life on the same farm on 10 mile creek, 18 miles West of Poplar
Bluff. Burial in KIRK family cemetery on KIRK farm.
