One stern wheeler was named "Alma Jane." I do not know how the stern wheeler came by the name of Alma Jane, but such a lovely name was passed on to a child born in the area. That child was; Alma Jane Wilson Warbington. Born in 1911, and continuing to enjoy a name which is a part of, Butler county Missouri, History.
