Cape GirardeauToellner Baking Company (Bamby Bread) in Poplar Bluff, Missouri from 1925 - 1975. My father's family originated in Cape Girardeau. My Grandfather, Bill Toellner, began working for Wielpuetz Bakery in Cape as a young man. When the Wielpuetz expanded to Poplar Bluff, my grandfather was sent there as the manager. He later purchased the bakery in Poplar Bluff. My grandmother was from the Meystedt family in Cape Girardeau and from what I have been told their family once owned much of the land that SEMO State College is now located on. I have created a website of the history of Toellner Baking Company which contains many old photographs, some of which are the Wielpuetz Bakery in Cape Girardeau Thanks: Kaye Toellner-Martin
