Gibson, a former resident of Peculiar township, where he resided for a number of years in the Excelsior neighborhood, died Tuesday evening at his home in Belton after only a day or two’s illness of pneumonia. He was first attacked by the grip which quickly took a turn into pneumonia, and his death took place before most of his neighbors and friends knew that he was ill. The funeral was held at the home in Belton this morning and the body taken to Lee’s Summit for burial. Mr. Gibson was one of the best known and highly respected citizens of Peculiar township. Until a little more than a year ago he made that township his home, he and his brother, Young F. Gibson, living together for something like forty years. His removal to Belton was for the purpose of placing his brother’s children in school, a parting that was a blow to both of them. The deceased leaves a wife, the brother mentioned and the two nieces whose education he was superintending while his brother remained on the farm. ********************************************* USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
