Compiled July 2000 by Betty Patton, Ruth Clark and Debbie Foster; Direct descendants of Judge Thomas Jefferson White. The cemetery is located on what was once property owned by the White family. Over the past 6 years, we have organized family reunions in order to clear all the brush and restore the cemetery. This list is, I believe, the most accurate. While at the reunion in June of this year, I put the list together, only to find several discrepancies between mine and former lists. So another trip from California in July to clear up the discrepancies and put together this list. Directions: Head North East out of Ethel, MO on Main Street (Highway 149). You will pass Bell Cemetery on the right. Take the first gravel road past the Bell Cemetery off to the left. Continue on this gravel road, over a small bridge to a "Y" in the road. At the "Y" turn right. (Biplane Road) Pass two houses close together on the left. The next house on the left is at the entrance to the White Cemetery and there is a "White Cemetery" sign posted. The cemetery is about a quarter mile back in the pasture to the left of the pond. Please keep gate closed. |
