Hutchison Cemetery is located in S28, T24N, R33W of Newton County, Mo. It is located back off of the road in a very dense thicket of brush and vines. This place is in very bad shape and has not seen any maintenance for at least 25 years. At one time the place was evidently cared for but this is long past and it is necessary to fight your way through about a block of brambles and brush to reach the site. There were many deadfalls and the cemetery may have been vandalized in the past as many stones were broken or toppled. I saw about 20 stones consisting of fieldstones and other markers. There are 35 listings in Findagrave for this place. Unbelievably, this cemetery has a sign on the gate at the road and has visiting hours posted on it. |
