Carver Cem is in Sec.7, Twp.26, Rge.31 at the George Washington Carver National Monument in Newton Co., Diamond, Mo.

Even though Moses and Susan (Blue) Carver established the Carver Cem. on their property, many people from the surrounding area were also buried their. The fact that relatives, neighbors and people from the general area were placed side by side helps us take a glimpse at the closeness of the early settlers and their dependence on each other.

Many of these people were significant influences on young George Washington Carver as he grew up on the farm. Among them of course, are Moses and Susan Carver. However George's brother Jim Carver is buried in Newton Co., Seneca, Mo. and George Washington Carver is buried at Tuskegee, Alabama.

The park ranger informed us that there are many unmarked graves in the Carver Cem.

Location: From 59 Hwy. in Newton Co., Diamond, Mo. go 2 miles W. on Hwy. V. then go 2 mile S. on Carver Rd. and turn W. into the George Washington Carver National Monument.
