Located in Sec. 4, Twp. 24, Rge. 30 in Newton Co., Stark City, Mo. Shannon Springs Cemetery has lots of field stones in it, so there is quite a few people buried there. It is an old family cemetery, founded by Hugh Shannon. There's an old marker in the cemetery that reads, "Uncle Tom, a faithful servant came from Virginia to Kentucky then to Missouri in 1829 with Hugh Shannon. The founder of this home stead. A new home in a new country". Directions: From 86 Hwy. in Newton Co., Stark City, Mo. head S. 2.1 miles on Shannon Springs Road then E. on Osage Drive.
