CHARITON COUNTY COURTHOUSE
INFORMATION

The Chariton County Courthouse is located at 306 South Cherry, Keytesville, MO 65261.
The telephone number is:  (660) 288-3273.

The County Clerk has birth records from 1883 to 1887.  The Circuit Court Clerk has all records pertaining to cases
filed in the Circuit Court which also include divorce records from 1821.  The Recorder's Office has marriage records from 1821
and land records from 1827.  The Probate Court has probate records from 1876 and Wills from 1865.

If you write to any of the Clerks in the above courts, PLEASE keep your requests specific and provide them as much information
as possible.  You will also need to include a self-addressed stamped envelope.  Many of the Courts in the state of Missouri operate
on very limited and restricted budgets.  Please also remember that the first obligation of all of these Clerks is the performance of
their elected or appointed positions, running the County.
