Gerald McCroskey Inman, 78, Clever, went to be with his Lord, Friday, Aug. 3, 2001. He was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Clever, Mo., to Paul and Ida (McCroskey) Inman and graduated from Clever High School in 1940. Gerald was married to Theda Keith on April 14, 1944, in Pocatella, Idaho. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by E.A. Martin Machinery Company, Springfield, Mo., as a diesel mechanic for 39 years. Gerald faithfully attend ed the United Methodist Church in Hurley, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Theda; one stepson, Dennis Rush and wife Joyce, Billings; two sons, Tom and wife Lori, Buffalo, and Jerry, Clever; one daughter, Sandy, Thoreau, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his dog, Cuddles; and many friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Meadors Funeral Chapel, Clever, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery, south of Clever. The Clever chapel will be open at noon today with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Ophelia Inman, 67, of Route 1, Nixa,
was dead on arrival at 3:45 a.m. today at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield,
after a long illness. Mrs. Inman was a lifelong resident of Nixa. Survivors
include her husband, Robert; a son, Gerald, Cardin, Okla; a daughter, Mrs.
Joyce Honeycutt, Blue Springs; four brothers, Guy, Jess, and Orville Jones, all
of Nixa, and Loren Jones, of Yakima, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Arnette,
Parker, Wash., Mrs. Irene Cook, Nixa, Mrs. Lorene Bolin, Bois D’Arc, and Mrs.
Bertha Coker, Aurora; and seven grandchildren. Services will be under the

Mrs.
Ophelia Inman, 67, Nixa, was dead on arrival at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s
Hospital, Springfield, after a long illness. Mrs. Inman was a lifelong resident
of Nixa. Survivors include her husband, Robert; a son, Gerald Inman, Cardin,
Okla; a daughter, Joyce Honeycutt, Blue Springs; four brothers, Guy Jones, Jess
Jones and Orville Jones, all of Nixa and Loren Jones, Yakima, Wash.; four
sisters, Mrs. Marie Annette, Parker, Wash., Mrs. Irene Cook, Nixa, Mrs. Lorene
Bolin, Bois D’Arc, and Mrs. Bertha Coker, Aurora; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harris Chapel, Nixa, with the Rev.
Wilbur Blansit officiating. Burial was in McConnell Cemetery, near Nixa.
Funeral services are incomplete but will be announced by Cantrell for Paul C. Inman, 75 of Clever, who died Tuesday at Cox Medical Center, Springfield following a long illness. Survivors include his wife Ida; a son, Gerald of Billings; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Inman, 91, Nixa, died Friday in Mount
Vernon Park Care Center, Springfield. Mr. Inman, a farmer, was born in
Cassville Dec. 19, 1899 to Finley and Mary Inman. He at one time attended Nixa
Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia, on Oct. 7,
1972. Survivors include a son, Gerald Inman, Sr., Picher, Okla.; a daughter,
Joyce Honeycutt, Blue Springs; a brother, Fred Inman, Seymour; a sister, Mae
McConnell, Republic; a nephew, Wayne McConnell, Stockton, Calif., whom he
raised from age two; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grand-children; numerous
nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday
in Harris Colonial Chapel, 205 N. Main, Nixa. Burial will be in McConnell
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tilda Marina
Inman, 62, of Jasper, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Jasper Assembly of
God Church with the Rev. C. C. Hodges officiating. Burial will be in 2:30 p.m.
in the McConnell Cemetery, Nixa, under direction of Christeson of Harrison,
Ark. Mrs. Inman, a native of Nixa, had lived in Kansas City before moving to
Jasper four years ago. She died Wednesday in her home. She is survived by her
husband, the Rev. Fred Inman; three sons, Lee of Waterloo, Iowa, Otto of
Springfield, and David of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia John of
Seymore, and Mrs. Imogene Matney of Olatha, Colo.; three brothers, Oneis of
Artois, Calif., Roy of Bell, Calif., and Efton of Ozark; and four sisters, Mrs.
Ethel Harp of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Artie Smith of Paramount, Calif., Mrs.
Lillie Watkins of Cypress, Calif., and Mrs. Anna Mae Jones of Bell, Calif.; and

Riley Inmon, 51-year-old farmer, died at 11:25 p.m. Thursday at his home on
route 1, Nixa., after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Inmon, who was a
life-long resident of the Nixa community, was a member of the Church of Christ
at Broadway and Madison. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; a son, Pvt. Billy
Joe Inmon, who recently returned form Korea; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Lea Decker
of Nixa; three brothers, Robert of Nixa, Elmer of Springfield and Fred of
Sparta; two sisters, Mrs. Mae McConnell of Republic and Mrs. Frances Gray of
route 10. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Nixa
Church of Christ by Evangelist Elmer L’Ry. Burial will be in McConnell Cemetery
under direction of Harris of Nixa. Pallbearers will be Harry Lee McConnell, Joe

Funeral services for George Riley Inmon, 51, who died July 16 at his
farm home north of Nixa were held Sunday afternoon at the Nixa Church of
Christ. Burial was in McConnell Cemetery under direction of Harris of Nixa. He
is survived by the widow, Mrs. Lucy Inmon, one son, Pvt. Billy Joe Inmon, now
in the Armed Forces; one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Lea Decker of Nixa’ three
brothers, Robert of Nixa, Elmer of Springfield and Fred of Sparta; two sisters,
Mrs. Mae McConnell of Republic and Mrs. Frances Gray of Springfield; other
relatives and many friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Broadway
and Madison in Springfield.

Campbell Inmon, 45, of Route 1, Clever, was found dead in his home about 8:45
a.m. Wednesday after suffering an apparent heart attack. He had suffered from a
heart condition most of his life. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Inmon, Route 1., Clever; a brother, Gerald, Billings; a niece and three
nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Clever Methodist Church
with the Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery

Mrs. Opal Mae Inman, 63, Route 1, Nixa, died at 8:30
p.m. Friday in a Simi Valley, Calif., Hospital, after a short illness. A
lifelong resident, she was a former garment worker. She and her husband were
visiting relatives in Simi Valley. Mrs. Inman was a member of the Baptist
church. Surviving are her husband, Porter; two sons, Jerry , of Kansas City,
and Eldon Dean, of Atascardero, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Emma Thompson,
Hollister, Mrs. Mary Simmons, Redlands, Calif., Mrs. Donna Fellows, Lawrence,
Kan., Mrs. Rosa Vaughn, Camarillo, Calif., Mrs. Nettie Hubbard, Simi Valley,
and Mrs. Martha Martin, Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. Merle Jones, Nixa, Mrs.
Myrtle Floyd, Springfield, Mrs. Marie Estes, Springfield, and Mrs. Ava Inman,
Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Lester Bolin, Bois D’Arc, and Noel Bolin,
Springfield; 20 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body will be returned
to Springfield, with services to be announced by Ralph Thieme there.

Grace Suvilla Inman, 76, lifetime resident of Clever, died at 5:30
a.m. Thursday at the Cox rest home at Republic. She is survived by one brother,
Paul, of Clever. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Clever Christian
Church. The Rev. Hubert Lines officiated with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery
under direction of Cantrell.
Services for Dina M. Inman, 9, Cameron, N.C., were held Feb. 13 at
the Clever Full Gospel Church. Burial was in McConnell Memorial Cemetery under
the direction of Harris Funeral Home of Ozark. The child died Feb. 11 at St.
John’s Regional Health Center following a sled accident Feb. 9 in Galena.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Harold Dean and Lisa Inman,
Cameron, N.C.; her mother, Mrs. Phyllis Jean Winchell, state of Iowa; one
brother, Joseph, Cameron, N.C.; one half-brother, Marcus Dean Inman, state of
Texas; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Inman, Ponce De Leon; her
maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Raub, Walnut Shade; and her paternal

Funeral services for Earl Inman, 66, Nixa, will be at 2 p.m. today
in the Harris Funeral Home, Nixa with the Rev. Joseph Fahl officiating. Burial
will be in the McConnell Cemetery, near Nixa. Mr. Inman was killed Saturday in
a two car head-on crash on US 65 highway, about ½ mile south of Springfield. A
resident of the Nixa area most of his life, Mr. Inman was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Fletcher of the
home; two brothers, Edgar of Nixa and Kenneth of Independence; three sisters,
Mrs. Lydia McConnell, Mrs. Lavanda Pope, and Mrs. Anna Nokes all of Nixa.

Helen L. Stamper Inman, 79, Nixa,
passed away at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday in Riverview Manor, Ozark, following a long
illness. Helen Stamper was born 12-22-1913 in Clever, Missouri, the daughter of
Charles E. Stamper and Nettie Young. She was united in marriage to Earl Inman
in 1930, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of
Calvary Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She is survived by a
daughter, Brenda and her husband, Vincent Hammond, Nixa; a sister and her
husband, Pollie and Marion Davis, Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Timothy,
Jennifer, Marc, Stacey, and Angela; several nieces and nephews. Services will
be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel, Nixa with the Rev Joe
Fahl officiating. Burial will be in the McConnell Cemetery, near Nixa.

Edgar Inman, 83, of Nixa, died about 7 p.m. Tuesday at the St.
John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri after a long illness.
Mr. Inman was a retired carpenter and had lived in the Nixa area about 20
years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Nixa. Survivors
include; two sons, Nolan of Nixa and Glenn of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs.
Ila Widders of Independence; two sisters, Mrs. Lavanda Pope and Mrs. Lydia McConnell
both of Nixa. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Harris Funeral
Chapel, Nixa with the Rev. Joseph Fahl Officiating. Burial will be in the
McConnell Cemetery, near Nixa. Memorial contributions can be made to the Heart

Martha Jane Inman, 96, Springfield, died at 1:15 a.m. today at Cox
Medical Center after a short illness. Mrs. Inman was a resident of Springfield
for 46 years. She is survived by five sons, James, Jack, and Eldon, all of
Springfield, Porter, Nixa, and Louis, Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Florence
Vallencourt, and Jewell Cannady, both of Springfield; one brother, John

former resident of Nixa, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday December 19th in the
Kansas University Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas after a two week
illness. Mr. Inman was a carpenter and a realtor. He was a member of the Kenwood
Chapel Church of Christ, where he was a deacon. Survivors include; his wife,
Norma; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Cox, Texas; a brother, Edgar of Nixa,; two
sisters, Mrs. Lavanda Pope and Mrs. Lydia McConnell both of Nixa and two
grandchildren. Arrangements will be announced by Harris Funeral Home of Nixa.

Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 1998, in Mercy Villa following a long
illness. Mr. Inman was born November 3, 1915, in Nixa, Missouri, to James L.
and Martha Jane (Sparkman) Inman. He was married to Mayme Ruth O’Neal and
together they owned and operated the Springfield Roofing Company. He was
preceded in death by his first wife, Mayme R. Inman; three brothers, James,
Porter, and Eldon Inman; and a sister, Mary Hale. He is survived by his present
wife, Emma Jane (Harrison) Inman; three sons and their wives, Jack L. and Joan
Inman, Mississippi, Jody and Karen Inman, and Jay N. and Glenda Inman, all of
Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother,
Louis “ Red “ Inman, De Soto, Kansas; two sisters, Florence Villancourt, and
Jewell Canaday, both of Springfield, Missouri and four step-children. Graveside
services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 1998, in the McConnell
Cemetery near Nixa, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Formal
visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials

member of Christ Church Unity. She was a secretary for Springfield Roofing Co.
for 35 years. Survivors include her husband, William; three sons, Jack, Stanley
and Jay, all of Springfield; two brothers, C. L. “Buster” and A. L. “Bud”
O’Neal, both of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Davidson, Mrs.
Blanche Myers and Mrs. Jane Dayton, all of Springfield; and seven

Neal Inmon, 81, a retired Nixa farmer, died Thursday afternoon in a Springfield
nursing home. Mr. Inmon was a member of James River Chapel Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Christine; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Steinert, Route 8,
Springfield; a son, Joe P. Inmon, Marietta, Okla.; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Letha M. Rees, Nixa, and Mrs.

Neal Inmon, 81, a retired Nixa farmer, died Thursday afternoon in a Springfield
nursing home. Mr. Inman was a member of James River Chapel Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Christine; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Steinert, Route 8,
Springfield; a son, Joe P. Inmon, Marietta, Okla.; three grandchildren; two
great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Letha R. Rees, Nixa and Mrs.
Elizabeth Crow, Delhart, Tex. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harris
Chapel at Nixa with Bob White officiating. Burial was in Payne Cemetery.
Mrs.
Mary Inman, widow of the late James L. Inman, died yesterday morning after an
illness of several months at her home on South Campbell. She was a member of
the Pythian Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Inman is survived by five sons, Ed
Inman, William R. , Bill Inman, Roscoe Inman all of Springfield and Sgt Lewis
Inman of the Phillipine; three daughters, Mrs. Jeannes Chittin, Mrs. Mary
Francis Melton and Mrs. Helen Percival all of Springfield; one brother, Joseph
Harris of New Castel, New Hampshire; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services
will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon in the Herman Lohmeyer Chapel with the
Rev. L.V. Swadley officiating. Burial will be in the Payne Cemetery, near Nixa
with the following men as pallbearers; Milford Swadley, Ben Pyles, James

Norma Leona Inman, age 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in Independence Regional Health Center. She was born February 17, 1912 in Christian County, Missouri, the daughter of Jake and Stella Painter. She had lived in the Kansas City area since 1953. Mrs. Inman was a member of the Church of Christ, at 7109 Raytown Road. Before retirement, she worked for Tri Chem Liquid Embroidery as a Star Region Manager for almost twenty years. Her husband, Kenneth J. Inman preceded her in death in 1978, as well as her parents and two brothers, Raymond Painter and Leslie Painter. Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Cox and her husband, Don, Independence, Missouri; a son, Ronnie Inman and his wife, Beverley, Enterprise, Alabama; a brother, Ray Painter, Ozark, Missouri; a sister, Marcia Haworth and her husband, Bill, Nixa, Missouri; granddaughters, Karen Cox and her husband, Randy Gould, Kansas City, and Nancy Zirpolo and her husband, Sam, Independence; a grandson, Rick Rikard and his wife, Julie Ann, Dothan, Alabama; and three great-grandchildren, Jake Zirpolo, Anna Zirpolo and Sarah Beth Rikard. Everett E. Isaacs, 52, Nixa, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 1998 in Cox Medical Center South of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Isaacs was a retired Air Force veteran and member of Wilson Creek Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Kelly May, Farmersburg, Ind., Tina Michell and Greg Compton, Strafford, Mo., Kimberly and V Dwayne Cooper, Mountain View, MO.; three grandchildren, Brian May, Devin Cooper and Dustin Compton; his mother Lillian Isaacs, Connersville, Ind. services for Rev. Lee Otis Inman, 77, of Ponce De Leon, MO will be held at 3
p.m., Tuesday at the Ponce Pentecostal Church in Ponce De Leon with burial to
be in McConnell Cemetery near Nixa, Mo under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral
Home of Branson. He died at 8:34 p.m. Oct. 3, 2003 in Cox South Hospital.
Survivors are three sons, one brother, two sisters, eleven grandchildren and
twenty-one great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in

Mrs.
Gladys Iorg was born May 22, 1920, the daughter of Jesse and Frances Nelson
Harvill in Keltner, Mo., and departed this life on February 8, 2004, in Ozark,
Mo. Gladys was a homemaker and farmer. Gladys attended the Elkhead Church of
God and most recently attended Mt. Zion Church. Dec. 10, 1939, Gladys and Lloyd
Iorg were united in marriage in Fordland, Mo., and to this union three children
were born. Gladys is survived by children, Knial Iorg and wife, Helen, Forsyth,
Mo., Carroll Iorg and wife, Betty , Kansas City, Mo., Donna Dalton and husband,
Ernie, Sparta, Mo.; grandchildren, Laura and Emily Iorg, Kansas City, Mo.,
Shelley and husband, Terry, Cape of Midland, Ga., Patricia Iorg, Lockspur,
Calif., Keith Iorg, Woodsbury, Tenn., and Mark Estep and wife, Shanna, Aurora,
Mo.; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Grant and Julia Cape, Midland, Ga., and
Cheyanne and Shelby Estep, Aurora, Mo. Also surviving are two sister-in-laws,
Sybil Harvill of Oldfield and Louetta Willis of Springfield, and several
cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. Gladys was preceded in
death by her husband Lloyd, her parents and two brothers, Gene and Oren
Harvill. Services will be 2 p.m. Wed. Feb. 11, 2004, in the Clinkingbeard
Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with Rev. Leland Trussell and Rev. Darrell Swearengin
officiating. Interment will be in the Bruner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to

Wellen F. “Wally” Ivory died Tuesday August 5, 1997, in his home. He was born
September 23, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York, and was the son of Benjamin and
Julia (Guzmich) Ivory. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during
World War II. He was united in marriage to Marguerite Rubenstrunk on June 25,
1943. Mr. Ivory retired as a railroad electrician and moved to Ozark in 1987.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. His parents preceded him in
death, as well as a brother, Fredrick Benjamin Ivory. Survivors include: his
wife, Marguerite; five children, Marguerite Huysman and her husband, Martin,
Pawcatuck, Connecticut, Joseph Ivory and his wife, Donna, Springfield, Lynne
Marie Ivory, Malone, New York, Timothy G. Ivory and his wife, Irene, Ozark, and
Patricia Ann Bush and her husband, Howard, Winthrop, New York; 21 grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was Friday, August 8, in St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Ozark, with Father
Paul McLoughlin officiating. Burial was in Weaver Cemetery.
Isbell, Madge W.
Madge W. Isbell, 72, Springfield, died at 11:06
a.m. Saturday, July 4, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She was born
Aug. 27, 1919, in Sparta, the daughter of Glen and Maude Bateman Isbell. The
Southwest Regional Stockyards employed her as a secretary. She was a member of
South Street Christian Church in Springfield. Survivors include a brother, Joe
Isbell, and his wife, Mary Ann, Albequerque, N.M.; a sister, Edith Gilley, and
her husband, Noel, Sparta; and nieces and nephews. Her parents and a sister,
Mabel Maples, preceded her in death. Services were held Tuesday, July 7, at
Sparta Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Max
Jenkins officiating.
Velma Inman, 88, Springfield, passed away with
her family by her side Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001 at her home in Marantha
Village. She was born Sept. 21, 1912 in Linden, Mo., the daughter of Albert and
Alpha (Roberts) Davis. On Dec. 3, 1932, she and Burnice Inman were married. He
preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1999. A son, Bobby Inman, a daughter, Juanita
Goodman, two brothers, Ivan Davis and Alvin Davis, two granddaughters and one
great-grandson, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Billy Joe
Inman and his wife Othena, Sparta; a daughter, Helen Fortner and her husband,
Larry, Pleasant Hope; a daughter-in-law, Bessie Inman, Rogersville; 10
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. A
brother-in-law, Ray Inman and his wife, June, Sparta, and two sisters-in-law, Addie
Mae Inman, Springfield, and Gertrude Green, Overland Park, Kan, also survive
her. Mrs. Inman looked forward to joining her Lord and Savior. She was a member
of Sparta First Baptist Church. All who knew her delighted in her sense of
humor and remarkable memory. She will be greatly missed. The family wishes to
express their heartfelt appreciation for the love and support of her family and
friends at Marantha Village and to Hospice of Southwest Missouri, especially
her nurse and dear friend, Kathy Graham. Services were Friday, Feb. 16 in Adams
Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Richard Eakins officiating. Burial was in Sparta
Cemetery.

Glen Isbell, 56, died suddenly Saturday, December 27 at his home in
Sparta following an illness of several months. The son of the late John and
Paralee Isbell, he was born in the Sparta community and lived his entire life
there. He was a carpenter by trade. In 1917, he was united in marriage to Miss
Maud Bateman and to this union four children were born. Surviving are his wife,
Maud; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Maples of Clever, Mrs. Edith Gilley of Sparta
and Miss Madge Isbell of Springfield; a son, Airman 1/c Joe Isbell stationed at Tinker Air Force
Base, Oklahoma City, two grandsons and two granddaughters; three sisters and
four brothers.

Community, she was a member of the Nixa Christian Church. Her husband, Fred

Mrs. Cora Inman, 81, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday
at her home two miles northwest of Nixa. Mrs. Inman has been a resident of the
community for the past 60 years. Survivors include three sons, Edgar, Kansas
City, Kan., Earl, Nixa and Kenneth, Independence, Mo. and three daughters, Mrs.
Annie Nokes, Mrs. Lydia McConnell and Mrs. Lavanda Pope, all of Nixa. Also
surviving are two brothers, Dee and Rex Frazier, both of Waldron, Ark.; three
sisters, Mrs. Lucy Killian and Mrs. Lydia Castleberry, both of Waldron and Mrs.

Veteran Teacher Called by Death. Funeral services
for Mrs. Mary E. Inman, 90, of Nixa, who spent more than 42 years as a teacher
in schools at Sparta, Ozark and Nixa, were held at 2 p.m. last Thursday in the
Nixa Baptist Church. The Rev. Oscar Pigg of Tulsa, a former student, the Rev.
Robert Baker and the Rev. Kenneth Bandy officiated. Burial was in Glenn
Cemetery under direction of Harris of Nixa. The Nixa resident died Tuesday Jan.
16, at Burge Protestant Hospital in Springfield where she had been a patient
only a few days. She was one of the founders of the Nixa Baptist Church and the
only living charter member in the Nixa community. She first taught at Sparta
and later at Ozark. Most of her teaching was done in Christian County and with
the exception of a few years following her marriage and before World War II,
she continued teaching until the age of 75. In 1953, the Missouri State
Teachers Association awarded her a certificate for services to the cause of
education. For the past four years, Mrs. Inman had lived with her daughter,
Mrs. Charles Amy of Nixa. She is also survived by a son, F. W. Inman of Sierra
Vista, Ariz; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. “Christian County
- Its First 100 Years”, published in connection with the 1959 Centennial, said
of Mrs. Inman, “The story of her life, if written out, would summarize the
history of schooling in Christian County.” A former student wrote: “She was a
teacher, I believe, who thought it as much her responsibility to instill
character into her pupils as to teach them.” The Rev. Pigg commented: “I forgot
her arithmetic but I never forgot the training which molded my character.”

Chester R. Inman, 44, of Evansdale, died Monday,
Jan. 19, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes. He was born
April 1, 1951, in Fordland, Mo., son of Lee O. and Sylvia Raubs Inman. He
married Linda A. Grcenewald on Aug. 22, 1970, in Evansdale. Mr.
Inman was employed with Deere & Co. for 23 years. He is survived by: his
wife; a son, Daniel L. of Evansdale; a daughter, Anne M. Kohis, of Waterloo;
two grandchildren; his parents, of Ponce De Leon, Mo.; three brothers, Harold
Dean, of Springfield, Mo., Dennie Lee of Ponce De Leon, and Fred Albert of
Walnut Shade, Mo.; and paternal grandfather, Fred Inman, of Seymour, Mo.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m, Friday, at Faith Assembly of God Church, Elk
Run Heights, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, following. Friends
called from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Burnice Eugene Inman, age 87, of Springfield, died Friday, January
22, in his home. He was born March 26, 1911 in Battlefield and was the son of
Isaiah and Martha (Hale) Inman. On Dec. 3, 1932 he and Velma Davis were
married. Mr. Inman was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Sparta First
Baptist Church. Survivors include: His wife, Velma; a son, Billy Joe Inman and
his wife, Othena, Sparta; a daughter, Helen Fortner and her husband, Larry,
Pleasant Hope; a daughter-in-law, Bessie Inman, Rogersville; a brother, Ray
Inman, Sparta; a sister, Edith Billings, Ozark; eight grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death
by: His parents; a son Bobby Eugene Inman; a daughter, Juanita Faye
[UNREADABLE], two granddaughters; a great-grandson; a brother, Carl
Inman; and two sisters, Anna Mae Inman and Faye Luce. A funeral service was
Sunday, Jan. 24, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Hubert Swearengin
officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery.

Graveside services for Mr. Joe James Isbell, age 67, of Kerrville,
Texas, who died Tuesday, February 9, 1999 in a Kerrville Hospital were held at 1:30
p.m. Monday, February 15, 1999 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San
Antonio, Texas with full military honors. Mr. Isbell was born June 9, 1931 in
Sparta, Missouri to Glen and Maude (Bateman) Isbell. He graduated from Sparta
School and received his B.S. Degree from Southwest Missouri State University in
Springfield, Missouri. He served in the US Air Force from March 1951 to March
1955 in the special weapons unit. He was preceded in death by his parents, two
sisters Madge Isbell and Mable Maples; brother in-law Noe J. Gilley. He is
survived by his wife Mary Ann of Kerrville, Texas; son James Isbell of Houston,
Texas; sister Edith Gilley of Sparta, MO.; three nephews Jerry Gilley of
Memphis, TN; Jim Gilley of Camdenton, MO.; and Jack Gilley of Sparta, MO.; two
nieces Ardell Maples Fox of Bonita Springs, Florida and Celeste Maples
Messenger of Easley, SC; brother-in-law Raymond Maples of Marionville, MO. Memorial may be made to the

"Ampy" Isbell, 68, of Sparta, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at St. John's
Regional Health Center, Springfield, shortly after being admitted. Services for
Mr. Isbell were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Harris Chapel, Ozark, with the
Rev. James "Hobo" Applegate officiating. Burial was in Sparta
Cemetery. Born Oct. 12, 1919, near Sparta,
to John and Ollie Isbell, he was a lifelong resident of Sparta and a graduate
of the Sparta High School class of 1940. He also attended Southwest Missouri
State University, and while a student, excelled in sports and was widely known
as an outstanding basketball player. He was an Army veteran of World War II,
serving in the European Theatre. He was a former sales manager of the Welch
Packing Company in Springfield, and was also a salesman for many years in
Southwest Missouri with Krey Meat Packing. He had operated a Sparta cafe for
five years. His survivors include his wife, Ferne; a daughter Joetta Jenkins,
Lanagan, a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Ray Pennington of Sparta; seven
grandchildren, Ken, Jonna, Bub, Candi, David, Mike, and Jeanie; six
great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, Jason, Brenton, Mathew, and Kelsey; a
brother, Max Isbell, Springfield; and his mother-in-law, Alta McDaniel,
Springfield.

after apparently suffering a heart attack. He had been a resident of the Ozark
area since 1954. Survivors include his wife, Ivy; four sons, Bobby Joe, Aurora,
Ill., Frank, Ozark, Tam, Springfield, and Mike, of the home; three daughters,
Mrs. Ivy Nell Lillard, Ozark, Miss Sharon Ingle and Miss Brenda Ingle, both of
the home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joyce N. Neal,. Harrisburg, Ark.; two brothers
and six sisters. Burial will be in Harrisburg, Ark. Local arrangements were

L. Inmon, 74, of Route 1, Ozark, died at 3:24 p.m. Saturday in the Veterans
Administration Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark. where he had been a patient for
five weeks. Mr. Inmon, a native of the Hurley community, and a resident of
Ozark since 1934, was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War I and a
member of the Selmore Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two
sons, Joseph, of Crane and William, Springfield; four daughters, Mrs. Lois
Blankenship, Hollister, Mrs. Irene Mitchell, Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Ruth
Brown,. Poplar Bluff, and Mrs. Nancy Arnett of the home; 11 grandchildren, six
step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
Other survivors are a brother, J. V. Inmon, Springfield; and two sisters, Mrs.
Gladys West, Hurley and Mrs. Ada Jones, Crane. Funeral services were at 2 p.m.
Tuesday in the Selmore Christian Church with the Revs. Harold Mayes and George
Nordgulen officiating. Burial was in Selmore Cemetery under direction of Harris
of Ozark.

Ora Irwin, 91, of
Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Chadwick, died at 4:00 a.m. Jan. 15 at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Tucson. Graveside services for Mrs. Irwin were held Tuesday,
with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Brueck officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery
under the direction of Harris Funeral Home, Ozark. The funeral was held
Saturday at the Bring's Funeral Home in Tucson. Mrs. Irwin resided in Tucson
for the past 4 1/2 years, moving there from San Luis Obispo, California. A
native of Chadwick, she had resided in the Chadwick and Sparta area prior to
moving to the west coast in 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.
Corbett Irwin, in 1976; by a daughter, Mrs. Eileen Peters, in 1972; and by two
sons, Asa and Don, both in 1975. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church
in San Luis Obispo. Survivors include one son, Worth, of Tucson, and several
grandchildren. .

Lawson S. Ingalsbe, 80. of
Springfield, died at noon Thursday in St. John’s Hospital after an illness of
three months. Mr. Ingalsbe, who had lived in Springfield since 1940, had been
employed by the MFA Milling Company, Cloud Oak Floor Company, and for five
years prior to his retirement last April, he worked in the maintenance
department of St. John’s Hospital. Mr. Ingalsbe was a veteran of World War I
and was a member of World War I and was a member of VFW Post 3404. A lifelong
member of the Christian Church, he was an ordained elder in the Southland
Christian Church, Survivors include his wife Isabel; four sons, Lawson J., Paul
W., Donald L. and Dwight W., all of Springfield; four daughters, Mrs. C. W.
Kemm, Springfield, Mrs. Delbert Mullens, Houston, Tex., Mrs. Dennis Gilbert,
Richmond, Va. and Mrs. Stanley Brunswick, Sacramento, Calif.; one brother,
Franz Ingalsbe of Ozark; one sister, Mrs. George Rasmussen of Ozark; and 19
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 11 a.m.
Saturday in Gorman-Scharpt-Abbott Chapel with the Rev. Sonny Dawes officiating.
Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery.

SHADE - Funeral services for D. J. Ingenthron, 91 of Walnut Shade, were at 2
p.m. Monday in Oak Ridge Full Gospel Church, north of Branson, with the Rev.
Mitchell Dunn officiating. Burial was in Walnut Shade Cemetery under direction
of Clarkson of Forsyth. Mr. Ingenthron died Friday at 10 p.m. in Christian
County Nursing Home, Ozark, where he had lived for three years. He was a farmer
and cattleman and was one of Taney County’s oldest residents. Surviving are a
son, Homer Ingenthron of Bradleyville; three brothers, Charley o Ozark, Henry
of Springfield, and Oliver of Davenport, Okla; three sisters, Mrs. Florence
Whitley and Mrs. Katherine Merriott, both of Forsyth, and Mrs. Ella Dunn,

Lloyd M. Inman, 37, Nixa café operator. Mr. Inman died April 26 in his home
west of Nixa following a short illness. The Rev. Edward Dougherty and the Rev.
Roscoe Harding officiated at the services. Burial was in the chapel cemetery
under direction of the Harris Funeral Home of Nixa. Bearers were Russell
McConnell, Leo Pope, Nolan Inman, Lowell Aven, Carl Widders, and Glen Inman.
Mr. Inman was born near Nixa January 25, 1903, the son of John G. and Cora
Inman. He married Ollie Aven August 12, 1925. He is survived by his wife, his
mother, Mrs. Cora Inman of Nixa, three brothers, Edgar of Kansas City, and Earl
and Kenneth, both of Nixa; and by three sisters, Mrs. Annie Nokes, Mrs. Lydia
McConnell, and Mrs. Lavanda Pope, all of Nixa. Mr. Inman had operated a café in
Nixa the past six years. Prior to that he had worked as a carpenter.

services were held at Union Chapel Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Margaret C. Iorg
who died March 21 at the home of a son, T.J. Kirkpatrick in San Antonio, Texas.
The Rev. Worth Caughron officiated at the services. Burial was in the Union
Chapel cemetery under direction of the Chaffin Funeral Home. She was the widow
of the late Charles Iorg. She and Mr. Iorg formerly lived in Ozark. Mrs. Iorg was
a native of Polk County where she was born July 12, 1873, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W.L. Walker. Survivors include also another son, F.M. Kirkpatrick of
Elkhead, a daughter, Mrs. Claud Henderson of Springfield, and three sisters and
two brothers, all of the Aurora vicinity. She was a member of the Church of
Christ.

Fred Iorge,74, died Saturday, April 14
at his home southeast of Nixa after a lingering illness. Born in Germany, Mr.
Iorge came to the United States when he was six years old and settled in
Christian County. He had lived in the Nixa community for the past 53 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dallas; a son, Floyd of Nixa; five brothers,
Charles of California, Henry of Cheyenne, WY, Herman of Mansfield, Willie of
Elkhead and Eddie of Bruner; a sister, Mrs. Ella Williams of California; two
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday in
Nixa Christian church, of which Mr. Iorge was a member with burial in McCauley
cemetery under direction of Harris of Nixa. Pallbearers were: Loyal Young, Ray
Hedgpeth, Jake Flood, Clifton Bilyeu, Clell Young, and Roy Young.

months and seven days. He was united in marriage in 1909 to Alice Swearingin,
who preceded him in death May 1944. To this union were born six children; Elsie
Denny and Elmer of Fordland, MO, Esther Cornelison and Oscar Iorg, Bruner, MO,
Irma McBride, Everton, MO, Lloyd Iorg, Elkhead, MO; six brothers, Charley Iorg
of Whiterocks, UT, Fred Iorg, Nixa, MO, William Iorg, Elkhead, MO, Edd Iorg,
Bruner, MO, Henry Iorg, Cheyenne, WY, and Herman Iorg, Marshfield, MO; one
sister, Ella Williams of Auburn, CA and fourteen grandchildren. He was

Mrs. Nancy Louisa Inmon, 89, died in her home one mile south of Clever Tuesday afternoon last week. She was the widow of the late Henry Inmon, who died in 1943. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Clever Christian Church with the Rev. D.S. Frazier and the Rev. Carl Burkhardt officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel cemetery under direction of the Harris Funeral Home of Clever. Bearers were Lyle Davis, Leonard Lehman, Albert Bohm, Cecil Allen, Fred McCroskey and Ullman Sanders. She is survived by one son, Paul Inmon of Clever, two daughters, Miss Grace Inmon of Clever and Mrs. Anna Henkaline of Greenville, Ohio, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Ida Inman, 54, a native of
Chadwick, died July 6 at her home, 435 Park Street, Springfield. She is
survived by one son, Torance Inman, of the U.S. Marines, two brothers, Frank
and Howard Inman, and a sister, Mrs. Tillie Mitchell of Garrison. Funeral
services were held July 7 in the Chadwich Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Roy
Shipman, with burial in Chadwick cemetery under direction of T.B. Chaffin of
Ozark.
Louis C. Inman, 88, De Soto, Kansas will be at 11
a.m. Friday at De Soto United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Olathe Memorial
Gardens. Mr. Inman died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Olathe Medical Center. He
was born Aug. 11, 1913, in Nixa, Mo., the son of James and Jane (Starkman)
Inman. Mr. Inman moved to the Kansas City, Kan., and Overland Park area in
1949. He retired from the Bendix Corporation. He married Ava Bolin in 1935. She
died Feb. 22, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Sanders, De Soto; three
sons, J.D. Inman, Topeka, and Larry Inman and Rick Inman, both of De Soto; a
sister, Jewel Cannady, Springfield, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, Ronald Inman,
died earlier. The family will receive

Funeral services for Henry Inman, 85, a prominent farmer of
the Clever community, who died Thursday night, July 1, were held at 2 o’clock
Monday in the Clever Christian church, conducted by Rev. D.H. Holland and Rev.
Doyle, with burial in Mt. Carmel cemetery under direction of the Wilburn Maples
Funeral Home of Clever. A former owner of the present site of the town of
Clever, Mr. Inman donated two lots to each of the Clever churches for building
sites. He and Mrs. Inman established their home in that community over 60 years
ago. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Nancy L. Inman, a son, Paul, of Clever,
two daughters, Grace Inman of Clever and Mrs. Annie Hinkaline of Ohio, and two
grandsons, Gerald Inman in the U.S. Army and John Inman of Clever.

Mrs. Alice
Iorg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Swearengin died May 19 in the Springfield
Baptist Hospital, being 59 years, 10 months, and 10 days of age. She was united
in marriage to August Iorg March 21, 1909. To this union were born three
daughters, Elsie Williams of the home, Esther Cornelison of Elkhead, Erma
McBride of Lockwood and three sons, Lloyd, Oscar and Elmer of the home. She was
converted 20 years ago, and two years later consecrated her all to God and took
her stand with the church at Elkhead, where she lived a Christian life until
the end. She also leaves to mourn her departure, her father and mother, two
sisters, Laura Swearengin of Elkhead and Mrs. Sanford Borring of Seymour, six
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and also a host of relatives
and friends. Their loss is heaven’s gain. Funeral services were conducted May
21, at 2:00, by Brother Spendler of Seymour at the Elkhead church with burial
in the Union Chapel cemetery under the direction of the Sparta Funeral Home,
Rathbun and Chaffin.

Isaiah Inmon was born May 5, 1860 and died June 26, 1940 at
the age of 80 years, 1 month and 21 days. He was born and reared in Greene and
Christian counties and had belonged to the Church of Christ for 50 years or
more. He was married to Nancy Jones in 1879. To this union were born nine
children, of which three are still living, Mrs. Myrtle Stewart of Dallas,
Texas, Homer Inmon of Springfield and Isiah Inmon, Jr., of Sparta; also eleven
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted
Friday, June 28, at 2:30 pm at the Patterson cemetery with the Rev. Elmer
Butler officiating and burial in the Patterson cemetery under direction of the
Sparta Undertaking Co., Rathbun and Chaffin.

the home of her sister, Mrs. Claud Mills, on Springfield Rt. 3 Wednesday, Feb.
21, 1940, at 7:45 a.m., after an illness of about three weeks. She had been in
Springfield Baptist hospital for treatment, but was moved to the home of her
sister Saturday afternoon, where she died. She was 45 years, 11 months and 29
days of age. She was united in marriage to Ed Iorg, to which union no children
were born. Besides the husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. William
Padgett of Bruner, two sisters, Mrs. Claude Mills of Springfield Rt. 3 and Mrs.
Robert Pettit of Rogersville, Mo., and by one niece and three nephews. Funeral
services were held Thursday, Feb. 22, 1940, at Union Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment
was made in the Union Chapel cemetery under the direction of the B.C. Klepper
Funeral Home of Ozark.

Anna Mae Inmon was born Aug. 3, 1924, and passed away at
the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I.I. Inmon, near Sparta on Wednesday
morning, Nov. 22. She had lived in the Sparta community all her life graduating
from Sparta high school in 1941. She professed faith in Christ, and maintained
a faithful attendance at church as long as health permitted her to do so.
Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edith Billings of
Rogersville and Mrs. Fae Luce of Sparta; three brothers, Burnice and Ray of
Rogersville, Carl of Springfield. Funeral services were conducted Friday
afternoon in Sparta Church of Christ by Jess Weatherwax, with burial in Sparta
cemetery under direction of the Chaffin Funeral Home.

services for Charles Iorg, 89, who died Jan. 12 at his home in Ozark, were held
Saturday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Ozark, conducted by Mr. Fields,
with burial in Union Chapel cemetery under direction of the Chaffin Funeral
Home of Ozark. A native of Germany, Mr. Iorg came to America more than 50 years
ago and located in Christian county near Red Oak, shortly after his arrival. A
farmer, he retired several years ago and moved to Ozark. He was a member of the
Ozark Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Caroline Iorg; seven
sons, Fred Iorg, Nixa; Willie, August and Eddie of Elkhead; Herman Iorg,
Mansfield; Henry Iorg, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Charley Iorg, Karbel, Calif.; a
daughter, Mrs. Ella Williams, Albuquerque, N.M.; 22 grandchildren, 24 great
grandchildren and many friends.

Isrell was born in Christian county, near Petelo, in 1854. He died Monday, Oct.
30, 1939, after several week’s illness. He had no immediate survivors. Funeral
services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. in the Klepper Funeral Chapel
with Rev. J.C. Tolbirt officiating. Interment was made in the Ozark City
Cemetery under the direction of B.C. Klepper.

Marie McConnell, daughter of Harvey and Maud McConnell, was
born in Christian county, Mo., July 13, 1903, and departed this life Nov. 28,
1938, at her home in Springfield at the age of 35 years, four months and 15
days. She was married to Edgar Inman May 11, 1919. To this union were born five
children, one having preceded her in death. She was converted at the age of 18
and lived a true Christian life until death. She is survived by her husband,
father and mother and four children, Ila, Nolan, Glenn and Avadean, three
sisters, Mrs. Vesta Maples, Mrs. Mae Edwards, and Mrs. Opal Jones, all of Nixa,
Mo.; two brothers, Lowell McConnell of Oswego, Kans., and Carmen McConnell of
Nixa, other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her going. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Nixa Christian church conducted by
Rev. R.C. Harding of Nixa with burial in the McConnell cemetery under the
direction of Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Nixa.

Klepper was born in Rogersville, Tenn., in Hawkins County, April 21, 1873, the
daughter of James Klepper and Sarah Molsby. She passed away at the Burge
hospital in Springfield, Mo., Monday, April 25, at 11:50 a.m. after an illness
of several weeks. She was 65 years and five days of age. She was united in
marriage to J.L. Isenberg, Sept. 8, 1889, at Rogersville, Tenn. To this union
were born four children. Three sons, Wm. C. and J.F., who preceded their mother
in death, and Daniel M., who survives, and one daughter, Alma C., of Golden
City Mo. With the exception of two years they have lived in Golden City since
1901. She became a Christian early in life and united with the United Brethren
church, later transferring her membership to the First Presbyterian church of
Golden City, Mo., of which church she was a member at the time of her death.
She leaves to mourn her departure the husband, J.L. Isenberg, one son, Daniel
M. of Pierson, Iowa, one daughter, Alma C. of Golden City, two brothers Sam
Klepper of Rogersville, Tenn., and Tom Klepper of Jefferson City, Tenn., two
sisters, Mrs. Ossie Altom of Fountain City, Tenn., and Miss Tennie Klepper of
Jefferson City, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her
departure. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind of helpful neighbor
and was loved by all whose privilege it was to have known her. Funeral services
were held Wednesday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the Klepper Funeral Chapel in Ozark
with the Rev. Jones, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Golden City,
officiating. Interment was made in the Smith cemetery near Rogersville, Mo.,
The deceased was a cousin of B.C. Klepper of this city.
Michael Howard Ingle, age 53, of Sparta, died Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was born May 10, 1954 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the son of Lurt “Joe” and Ivy (Bowman) Ingle. Mike enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter. He loved the outdoors. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Sparta. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Ingle and Jennifer Kuizinas, Chadwick, and Jeremy Ingle, Sparta; two grandchildren, Logan Lott and Trenton Ingle; six siblings, Joyce Neal, Harrisburg, AR, Bob Ingle, Buffalo, Frank Ingle, Stillwell, OK, Tom Ingle, Fordland, Sharon Barnes, Ozark, and Brenda Johnson, Republic. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ivy Nell Lillard; and a brother, Danny Ray Ingle. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Monger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11- noon Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
