Description and Remarks:

All  of a tract of land described as commencing at a point 18 rods north and 24 rods east of the southwest corner of the southwest fourth of the southeast quarter of section eleven (11), township sixty six (66), range eight (8) west, running thence east 3 rods, north 3 rods, thence west 3 rods and thence south 3 rods to the place of beginning.  Said tract of land to be used for burial purposes only by the family and relation of grantors only.

 Note:  The above named cemetery is known as the Shaffer Family Cemetery.

          The first known burial was in l850, and the last in 1930.  These dates      were copied from the book, Cemetery Inscriptions of Clark County, Missouri.

          The book lists 12 tombstones in the cemetery, of course there may be more burials in unmarked graves.

          A Civil War soldier is buried in the cemetery, who died Jan. 4, 1865, with the sad inscription on his tombstone, “Our boy died for his country.”
