Dewey R. Bittick dies in Columbia
Dewey Ray Bittick, 70, 814 Elizabeth St. died Friday at the University of
Missouri Medical Center at Columbia. He was born on Nov. 23, 1898, son of Hiram
and Bertha Stampfli Bittick. On Nov. 6, 1922, he was married to Tressie Belle
Quinn. She survives. Other survivors include: One daughter, Mrs. Norma Strope,
Jefferson City; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lester Duncan, Bagnell, Mrs. Richard
Surbaugh, Lake Ozarks. One son, Deuard Nichols, Holt Summit; one sister, Mrs.
Eula Reno, Jefferson City; and one brother, Cecil Bittick, Russelville. Funeral
services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Tanner Chapel. Burial will be in
Riverview Cemetery.
Mr. Bittick was a veteran of WWI.
Note: Tanner Funeral Home Records were destroyed in a fire in 1969.
