Murder, Suicide Ruled In Deaths

Murder and suicide have been ruled the cause of death Monday night of Gerald Reno, 30, and his ex-wife, Barbara Reno, 24. Three shots were heard shortly before 8:30 p.m. Both were dead on the arrival of Jefferson City policemen who were called by neighbors to 207 W. Cedar St. Cole County Coroner Lawrence Giffen said Reno apparently shot his former wife twice with a high-powered rifle before turning the weapon on himself. According to police reports, the incident was apparently caused by personal problems.
