Reuben L. Martin Family

Reuben L. Martin, s/o Thomas Martin and Leanna Hickman Martin, b Casey Co., KY, 1834, d 1916 Crawford Co.  The family migrated to Crawford County by 1839.  Reuben married Lydia Marguerite Coleman in 1865 in Crawford Co.  Lydia, d/o Samuel Coleman and Elizabeth Brickey, b Crawford Co 1847.

Their children:

1. Ida Bell, b 1866, m Marvin Coleman

2. Samuel Sheridan, b 1867

3. Leah Elizabeth, b 1868, m Jessie Newton Eaton

4. Thomas E., b 1870, m Leatha Brickey 1891, m Effie E. Ives Coleman 1903

5. Zetha Frances, b 1871, m Charles Richards 1891, m Samuel L. Ogle 1900

6. Peter Brickey, b 1873, m Louisa C. (Kate) Maggart 1900

7. Austin Clark, b 1875, m Sarah Malinda Pidcock 1899 in Linc. Co, OK

8. Leola, b 1876, m W.N. Tompkins 1890, m ? Kamber, b 4 1910

Austin Clark Martin Family

Austin Clark Martin and Sarah Malinda Pidcock were married in 1899 in Lincoln Co, Oklahoma Territory.  Sarah was born in Crawford County in 1876, the daughter of James Samuel Pidcock and Lucy Ann Kelly, who moved to the Oklahoma Territory in the land run of 1891 along with other family members.  Clark came prior to 1899 to claim his bride.  Clark died of typhoid fever in 1908.   Sarah remarried Samuel Robert Ford in 1910.  Clark attended the Steelville Academy and taught school in Steelville and Oklahoma Territory.
