I am looking for information on two MATTHEWS brothers, Overton Bettis, and Thomas Bettis. Overton was born about 1816, married a CAMPBELL, maybe named Talitha, in 1837? Thomas was born about 1815, married a Campbell, also, maybe Tabitha, in 1849. Were these girls related? are the names correct? Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated. The brother's parent's were Edward and Lovey or Lovely Matthews.

I am researching Oliver ASHLEY who was born in Canada, Dec. 25, 1826, and moved to Ogdensburg, N. Y. when he was 14. His wife's name was Helen DULAC. They moved to Mo. in 1870. He died in 1906 and he and his wife are buried in the Sanders Cemetery near Huzzah. A daughter, Agnes Dierking, 1863-1906 is also buried in the Sanders cemetery.

I am doing research on the Hill family of Crawford and Dent counties. William and Nancy Hill came to the Bourbon area in 1840 from
Tennessee, they had six children. They are both buried in the Hill Cemetary. The children's names were A.W.(Allison)Hill, he was the first post master in Bourbon. He married Virginia Turner, daughter of Richard Turner. Milton Hill married Margaret Love and lived in Dent County. Sarah Hill married W.A.Young and moved to Dent County. The other three children I only have initials for. A female born in 1833 S.L. Hill, a male A.J. Hill born in 1833 and another male W.M. Hill born in 1839. They lived in Bourbon and in Salem Missouri. I would like any information on the Hill family.

Looking for information on William HOW or HOWE, died in Leasburg, Crawford Co., MO on 27 May, 1879. He was born in Lewis Co., NY on 23 February, 1810; in 1849 he moved to Beaver Dam, Dodge Co., WI, where he built a grist mill. In 1868 he built a mill in Newark, Rock Co., WI, west of Beloit. He moved to Leasburg about 1876 and built a mill there, which he ran with his son Orlando. His mill in Rock Co. WI has been restored as a museum; we are looking for any photos of William and/or his mill in Leasburg. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

David SHOOP (b. 11 Nov 1842 s/o Peter SHOOP (22 Nov 1801 - 24 Apr 1881) & Nancy (?) (1 Jan 1814 - 11 Nov 1873), both of them buried Spruce Hollow, Bedford Co., Lovely, PA. Elizabeth signed off her legacy of land from her Father's demise on 13 July 1898 per deed to Dorsey Ling for the sum of $200 in Bedford Co.,
PA. Elizabeth stated she was "of the County of Crawford, State of MO".

I am researching William Riley Bray and am looking for information about his parents and siblings and children. William was born in Claiborne Co., Tennesee sometime in 1836. He married a Susan Margaret Speak(e) in 1855 in Garrard Co, Kentucky. They moved first to Illinois (Macoupin Co) where they had several children. The only one I have a name for is Sarah Ellen Bray, born in 1857. They must have moved to Missouri sometime in the very early 1860's, as William was a private in Co. E, 6th Regiment of M.S.M. Cavalry Volunteers. They then moved to Crawford Co., MO and had several more children. I know of George b. 1873, Edward b. 1875, and Abigail b. 1876. I'm told there was also an Arthur but have not run across him. William died in April of 1888 and was buried in the Hibler Cemetery outside of Steeleville. Any information about either his parents family, or his family, it would be greatly appreciated.
